Hongo was a real treat to watch in all of the Gamera/Daimajin films he was in. Acting wise, this guy is as close to the Gamera series as you get. The Daei version of Kenji Sahara more or less.

Posted: Thu Feb 27, 2014 3:02 amMan, this is a huge loss. When one thinks of a leading man in a Godzilla film, you have Akira Takarada or Akira Kubo. But when I think of a leading man in a Gamera film, it will always be Mr. Hongo, and no other.
