New Gamera DVD box set coming

Spinning flame-jetted turtles, space birds being chopped up like bologna, kids in shorts screaming for help...the original Gamera series was a strange mix of wacky fun!! The 90's Gamera films set a standard that other kaiju films are measured against! Discuss Gamera films here!!

Postby cinefringe » Sun Nov 20, 2005 1:39 pm

Kadokawa will release the new Gamera DVD box set next summer. Below is the info I collected for now :

Gamera 40th Anniversary Z-Plan DVD Box Set

Release date : August 31, 2006
Price : 47,500 yen

The set will include all Showa and Heisei Gamera films (total of 11).
Spec, features, exclusives has not yet been revealed.

Resevation will begin November 27, 2005. It's the birthday of Gamera, when the first Gamera film was open back in 1965.

More info when it's available.

-------

Personally, I am very interested in special features and exclusives.

PCM & DTS audio? AWESOME! :D If it wasn't so expensive I'd buy it.

As for GAMERA SUPER MONSTER (or SPACE MONSTER GAMERA), I recently got a great subtitled copy of it and enjoyed the movie quite a bit. :color:

We're counting on you James . If the set has subtitles, I guess I'll just have to save my tenner-a-week pocket money for..........I'm not good at maths, so I'll just say a very long time.
