Gamera Reborn for 2005?

Spinning flame-jetted turtles, space birds being chopped up like bologna, kids in shorts screaming for help...the original Gamera series was a strange mix of wacky fun!! The 90's Gamera films set a standard that other kaiju films are measured against! Discuss Gamera films here!!

Kadokawa Daiei won't release any info yet because nothing is set in stone. The movie, if completed on time, will be released late summer -to- early winter, probably to compete against "Ultraman II:Requiem".

It's in pre-production, and has been since November of last year.....

I want to see the "real Monster X" Jiger return  ...I felt she was Gamera's most deadliest enemy (and this includes both showa and heisei Gamera foes). Of course, it doesn't matter, since the beloved Kaneko won't be directing it, all we will hear is the usual whining and groaning....

^ I tried to liven it up and start a "what-if" discussion with my last post....But I guess no one's interested..... :( :?:

BTW, just to add my two cents to this, I don't dislike what Tezuka-san did in GXMG or Tokyo S.O.S., but I wasn't exactly thrilled by it either. Both movies were so-so in my opinion, but were still better then the dismal "G2K" and "Megaguirus".

I haven't seen GFW, but from what I've seen(and I think I've seen about half the movie through previews, specials, and clips) it's fast-paced and all action....

Kitamura tried to put a new spin on things, while Tezuka tried to revive the Heisei formula while fueling a new stand-alone feel for the millenium saga.

"Gamera" will no doubt take advantage of the new-age bandwagon, and for some strange reason, I feel that a "Gamera 2000" movie isn't too far behind.....Let's hope they can make more sense of it than the creators of the game ever did.
