I don't care much for their "news" either, as I've yet to see an article in which the writer didn't inject his or her opinion of the news item on which they were reporting. I'm a big believer in laying out the facts as plainly as possible and letting the reader/listener/viewer form their own opinion when it comes to news. Many of AICN's reviews may be rather poorly written, but they are also often quite redundant, since the person who gets the first review in is usually the same person who has been providing the scoops up to that point and loading their reports with their own opinions of what they've learned. No offense to Harry Knowles, our own Aaron (MZ is a lesser offender, to be sure) or anyone else, but that is the single biggest problem with most fan-operated movie news sites - the natural tendency to mix heavy doses of commentary into news items and thus influence the reader's perspective.
The Gamera review may or may not be fake, but at least it's presented as a review and not a "news article" bogged down with editorial slant.
