I am listening to the "Commentary" out of context...... and you know it is sort of funny of pompous audio commentaries (A new genre ripe for parody). But gosh.... it's got old....

And this in lew of a translation of the R2 Commentary????

You guys should check out the R2 discs sometime. I was disappointed with the ADV ones and picked up the R2 boxset (from someone on the Monster Zero forum, as a matter of fact), and they are so much nicer.

Gamera: GotU in particular is much better than the R1 disc, with it's non-anamorphic, VHS transfer (though I think the current re-release is anamorphic). But Legion and Irys look alot better as well. These two both had soft transfers with poor black levels (i.e., blacks were gray), but the R2 corrects both of these problems. Plus, no "funny" commentary track; the films are treated with much more respect overall.
