Another Gamera awakens in semi-futuristic Tokyo and goes on a rampage, while a scientist goes on to discover the source of its' rage.
Meanwhile, a fossilized DNA sample is used to bring about a monstrous creature who slowly and steadily evolves into an even stronger creature, and the source of the new Gamera's rage. They battle until one's left standing and that ends that...until we get a realiy check and the Gyaos invade Tokyo, which triggers a flashback, where we see what happened to the last Gamera(G3) and the result of that scurmish(think WW3 but with the world v.s. the Gyaos army) and why the world had to rebuild and become the technological powerhouse it's become.
From there, we can see Gamera battle the Gyaos Queen or King(if the director wants a sequel, Gamera goes for the King then hints that he goes after the queen at the end), and whoever the new "vessel" is explains Gamera's true intentions and we cut to credits....
Or, they can continue G3 and show is how the world battles the Gyaos with Gamera's help, and during the Battle, Gamera sacrifices itself in destroying the Gyaos army and the Queen. However, a new evil takes advantage of Gamera's absense and attacks, leading to the creation of a defense task force to combat the new threat. Little do they know that another Gamera has been born undergound and has fed off of the original's power, making it stronger, faster, and more lethal than any monster seen so far, and it makes its' presense known later in the film when it totals the city while defeating the new monster.
Now with no human vessel to help it grow and a large amount of power within it, the new Gamera flies off into the sky, waiting for the next chance to attack....
my thoughts:
The first one's sci-fi, with some horror thrown into the mix with the monster, maybe some sort of mutant creature that's been enhanced by science. Also, we can add the basic hottie/intelligent scientist-detective in there, as well as a paleontologist or special agent for her to interact with, and the "vessel", who could pretty much be any young teenager. Also, there has to be an "all-knowing" mystery figure to let them know what's going on, as well as an evil scientist bent on seeing his/her creation reach its' peak. Also, the army'd have an even better arsenal after dealing with the Gyaos invasion, so some high-tech gadgets would be in order.
The story'd need some top-level actors, some models or pop singers(who can act and bring publicity to the movie) as the vessel and the heroine , and some high-end special effects(at least better than G3's) for it to work, since it's based in the future(so the cities would have to have some futuristic flavor to it, like giant sky-scrapers, holo-phones, the standard "Blade Runner" feel.) and would probably work for a wide audience.
The second story is more casual, the standard Gamera fare. It's almost like G4(the unofficial movie), with the exception that the new Gamera's been overhauled and made into a monster, who isn't that concerned with the well-being of humanity, but only with the complete destruction of it's competition. Also, the story gets more dramatic withthe inclusion of Hero Gamera's on-screen death, and the birth of Anti-hero Gamera at the film's climax. When we learn of the new Gamera's
In both ideas, I tried to bring closure to the Gyaos storyline, but left it open for some plot twist that may bring them back("the Gyaos are Gamera's eternal rivals, since as long as he exists in some form, so will they" - G3)
So there...
