Ultraman and Alien Baltan Ceremonial First Pitch at Los Angeles Dodgers Game on August 26th!

As announced last weekend on SciFi Japan, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Ultraman appeared for the ceremonial first pitch and related events at Dodger Stadium, the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Before the 7:10pm (PST) game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds, Dodgers fans and attendees were treated to a photo session with Ultraman and his longtime foe Alien Baltan at Center Field Plaza. Fans formed a long line, eager to meet and take photos with the iconic Tsuburaya Productions characters.

At the ceremonial first pitch, as Hidetoshi Yamamoto, Chairman and Group CEO of Tsuburaya Fields Holdings, was about to head to the mound with Ultraman, Alien Baltan unexpectedly barged in. Just when it seemed like a huge brawl was about to break out, Ultraman executed a perfect shoulder against Alien Baltan. The opening theme song of the original ULTRAMAN (ウルトラマン　空想特撮シリーズ, Urutoraman Kūsō Tokusatsu Shirīzu, 1966-67) television series then echoed through the stadium as Yamamoto wound up and threw a pitch from the mound. The crowd erupted in thunderous applause.

A fancam event was also held, encouraging fans to strike Ultraman poses. Children and Dodgers fans had fun during the in-game breaks, striking various poses, including the Spacium Beam and Ultraman’s signature fist pump.

This event was a joint project between the Dodgers and Tsuburaya Fields Media & Pictures Entertainment, Inc., the U.S. affiliate of Tsuburaya Fields Holdings. Information about the event was also distributed to the U.S. media.

Ultraman will celebrate his 60th anniversary next year. Appearing on the global stage of Major League Baseball represents a new step for sports and pop culture to connect fans across borders and generations. Please look forward to the future expansion of the Ultraman series overseas.
