The story of ULTRA GALAXY FIGHT: NEW GENERATION HEROES takes place between the events of the most recent feature film, ULTRAMAN R/B THE MOVIE ~ SELECT! ■ The ULTRA FIGHT Creative Team Returns
Director Koichi Sakamoto and screenwriter Junichiro Ashiki — the creative team behind ULTRA FIGHT VICTORY and ULTRA FIGHT ORB — have reunited for the new show. Tsuburaya Productions has stated that they will pack ULTRA GALAXY FIGHT with stunning action sequences.
That statement is fitting as Koichi Sakamoto was a former action director and executive producer on the American POWER RANGERS series. He made his directing debut in Japan with MEGA MONSTER BATTLE ULTRA GALAXY: THE MOVIE (大怪獣バトル ウルトラ銀河伝説 THE MOVIE, Daikaijū Batoru Urutora Ginga Densetsu THE MOVIE, 2009), the film that introduced Ultraman Zero. He has gone on to direct for the Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai television franchises plus the feature films ZYUDEN SENTAI KYORYUGER THE MOVIE: GABURINCHO OF MUSIC (劇場版 獣電戦隊キョウリュウジャー ガブリンチョ・オブ・ミュージック, Gekijō-ban Jū-den Sentai Kyouryuujā Gaburincho Obu Myūjikku, 2013), 009-1 THE END OF THE BEGINNING (009ノ1(ゼロゼロクノイチ) THE END OF THE BEGINNING, Zero Zero Nain Wan the End of the Beginning, 2013), KYORYUGER VS GO-BUSTERS (獣電戦隊キョウリュウジャーVSゴーバスターズ 恐竜大決戦! さらば永遠の友よ, Jū-den Sentai Kyouryuujā Tai Gōbasutāzu Kyōryū Daikessen! Saraba Eien no Tomo yo, 2014), ULTRAMAN GINGA S THE MOVIE (劇場版 ウルトラマンギンガS 決戦! ウルトラ10勇士!!, Gekijō-ban Urutoraman Ginga S Kessen! Urutora 10 Yūshi!!, 2015) and KAMEN RIDER EX-AID & GHOST WITH LEGEND RIDERS (仮面ライダー平成ジェネレーションズ Dr.パックマン対エグゼイド&ゴースト with レジェンドライダー, Kamen Raidā Heisei Jenerēshonzu Dr. Pakkuman Tai Eguzeido & Gōsuto Uizu Rejendo Raidā, 2016).
In addition to the two ULTRA FIGHT series, Junichiro Ashiki has written for ULTRAMAN GINGA (ウルトラマンギンガ, Urutoraman Ginga, 2013) and ULTRAMAN ORB (ウルトラマンオーブ, Urutoraman Ōbu, 2016).
