MVD Entertainment is offering SciFi Japan readers a chance to win their new Collector's Edition Blu-ray of THE DARK (1979), a chilling tale of alien terror f rom director John "Bud" Cardos (KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS, MUTANT).

A writer (William Devane, ROLLING THUNDER) takes a personal interest in a series of baffling, shocking murders in Los Angeles ... and evidence suggests the suspect may not be human. Every night "The Mangler" stalks the streets, attacking and mutilating random victims. On the creature's trail is TV reporter Zoe Owens (Cathy Lee Crosby, COACH) and police detective Dave Mooney (Richard Jaeckel, THE DIRTY DOZEN), but the truth behind the murders is far more strange and horrifying than they could ever imagine in this cult classic featuring Keenan Wynn (DR. STRANGELOVE), Casey Kasem (radio legend and "American Top 40" host) and Jacquelyn Hyde (THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY?) in her Saturn Award nominated performance.

THE DARK: Collector's Edition Blu-ray offers a High Definition (1080p) presentation of the main feature in 2.35:1 aspect ratio from the original camera negative, DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono, English Subtitles, an Audio Commentary with producer Igo Kantor and director John “Bud” Cardos, an Interview with composer Roger Kellaway and director John “Bud” Cardos, a photo gallery and the original theatrical trailer. It will be released August 24 and has a SRP of $29.95 .

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES and INFORMATION

Prize:

A. There are three (3) prizes, each consisting of one (1) ITHE DARK: Collector's Edition Blu-ray.

B. The prizes will be shipped to the contest winners so entrants must include a valid mailing address. This contest is only open to participants in the United States and Canada.

C. In the event that a winner chooses not to (or cannot) accept a prize, he or she forfeits all claim to that prize. D. One entry per person. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution of prizes allowed.

Duration of contests:

A. The "THE DARK: Collector's Edition" contest runs from August 19 until 11:59pm on August 31, 2021.

How to enter:

A. Submit your name, email address, and mailing address for the random drawing.

B. Be sure to write "THE DARK: Collector's Edition" in the subject header of your email entry. SciFi Japan often runs multiple contests at the same time, so any entries without "THE DARK: Collector's Edition" in the subject header will be discarded.

Determination of winners:

A. Only contestants who have submitted the requested information will be entered in the final drawing. The first three randomly drawn eligible entries will be judged the winners for this contest.

B. SciFi Japan is not responsible for typographical, electronic or other errors in Internet operation affecting the offering, outcome, administration of the contest or the announcement of prizes. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

C. The decision of MVD and SciFi Japan is final. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the SciFi Japan judges, which are final and binding in all respects.
