The ‘80s TZ was shot on film but edited on video (ala Star Trek TNG), so unless CBS wants to go back and reconstruct every episode of the series using the original camera negatives (if they even still exist), then the show will always look like SD video. Because that’s what the edited episode masters are.

^ I am enjoying it, it's nuts. Bite sized episodes, easy to pick up and put down. Not as likely to binge this as something less formulaic with a stronger arc. In my opinion the best toku series released stateside has been season one of Garo.

They could still do SDBD or upconverts. Though, at this point, it doesn't matter unless the series ends up being as good as the original.

It would be nice if they would rerelease the 2002 version either on DVD or put it out on BD because I am not paying $200 for the old DVD set.

It's quite enjoyable. I have reviewed it if you would like to see what it's like. Link is in the topic discussion on the show in the Japanese Heroes section.

Hmmmm... do I keep this new cover art or use the reverse with the original poster art?

^^I remember seeing this quite some time ago. The only thing I remember was that the scene where the "scientist" explains his theory to a fellow teacher was quite humorous  ...as for the cover, I vote for the poster art version.

Just ordered Shout Factory's The Howling 3 Blu-ray from Amazon. I watch it next month because for the month of October I plan on doing a werewolf movie a day to celebrate Halloween.

Got an awesome deal on Ebay ($17 after shipping) on BCI Eclipse's release of Super Robot Red Baron -- complete and looks like it just came out of the shrink wrap.

^I just looked it up to do a price comparison. I was unaware Mill Creek did a re release 2 years after BCI, not sure if there are any significant differences, but I guess that is good, The MC one is still super cheap, but I'm guess the packaging was simplified quite a bit, not sure if more content was compressed onto fewer dvd's or not though. I've Had red Baron and Iron King pretty much since release. watched a couple episodes of each. They are fun, but just haven't gotten back to the rest. Got them mostly because they were so reasonably priced at the time of release.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I was slow in picking Super Robot Red Baron and Iron King up when they were first released. I bought Iron King years ago but when BCI was shutdown the prices on all their releases shot up so I waited. I almost picked up MillCreek's release of Super Robot Red Baron several times but it only has 4 discs compared to BCI's 6. I'm not sure just how much MillCreek's only using 4 discs affects image quality though.

Megabeast Investigator Juspion- really digging the Star Wars-meets-Power Rangers vibe, also like the creature designs.

Today I got Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy on 4K. I planned on getting just Ant-man and GotG but also decided to get Doctor Strange as well.

Love Tarantula. Tom Weaver's commentary track on this release is superb.

Not the biggest fan of Mantis, but the release seems to be similarly stellar, even including the mst3k episode version, making it very enticing...

Just picked this up at Wal-Mart today -- $12.96, came out on the 1st; buying at Wal-Mart has Instawatch digital copies of both movies and your receipt will print out with a VUDU code which appears to include both movies. VUDU code is in a section called ACTIVATION CODE, and on my receipt says "Digital copy of The Addams Family (Dou" (hence my guess the VUDU code includes both movies).

Instawatch redemption popped up right away, shows up as "Bundle & Save The Addams Family Double Feature" with both movies as separate entries under the bundle each with the respective new blue or purple background cover art. Also as these movies are Paramount releases the digital copies are not Movies Anywhere compatible yet -- but with Ultraviolet gone now I imagine Paramount will participate sooner or later.

The first Addams Family movie has been out on blu-ray for a few years now, but this is the first time Addams Family Values has come to blu-ray. The 2 movie collection has each movie on its own disc.
