I decided that since I can't afford a Switch any time soon to pick this up with some of my birthday money:

Also just add about 40 additional games to it include MMX 2-3, DKC 2-3, The Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, Earthworm Jim, Super Godzilla, Mario All-Stars, Final Fantasy II (IV), Chrono Trigger, Bart's Nightmare, Castlevania Dracula X, Aladdin, along with a few others. Might add a few more I forgot about.

I never thought I'd see a SNES classic in store, but one target near me got about 10 of them a week or so ago, last time I checked they still had 2. They are probably gone now, but I had this wonky idea that probably wont work but....

every holiday season, I see retro consoles that don't sell (always a new version of Atari 2600 or Sega Genesis)...maybe, just maybe this holiday season Nintendo will actually try to saturate the market with SNES classic, instead of having them only be available to scalpers. I mean I have every SNES title on emulation, but it would be nice just to play them on my TV. Often times when things are buried on your hard drive its out of sight/ out of mind.

Except for the Best Buy and Target 5 minutes away from me, the other Targets and Best Buys are quite stocked with them. The BB I bought the machine at yesterday had 20 of them on the shelf.

Rumors are there is going to be an N64 Classic this Fall, which might be worth my buying sooner rather than later as I did not own the N64 until it was on clearance for $30 at Target and I only played Perfect Dark.

So I managed to snag a NES Classic Edition on Friday but I'm not sure what to do with it part of me wants to keep it and mod it. Part of me wants to hold onto it for collector's value. Part of me wants to hold onto it and resell it for profit in a year or so. And part of me wants to return it.

Yeah I actually saw a nes classic at Wal-Mart yesterday, (for the first time ever!) wasn't even looking for it. Of course I really didn't want it, and I didn't get it, but I stared at it for a good long while. It was kind of like the "One Ring" calling to me. Just thinking that about 18 months ago, scalpers bought tons of these and sold them for 2-3X retail price, for such an "odd little thing" . I just keep telling myself, that it only has 30 games, and there are hackers online that have added pretty much the entire Nintendo Library to them for about 2X the price if I ever really wanted one.

I got the NES classic last week too and instantly put on about 30 more games onto it. It's great because now I have no need for the Virtual Console from Nintendo since I can have any and every SNES and NES game I could ever want or need on those machines. At least to play. I would still love to one day get some physical copies of my top favorites again, but then, I don't know if they are worth the value they are being sold for.
