The unproduced final episodes of Cartoon Network's "Star Wars" spin-off will be adapted into a four-part mini-series from Dark Horse Comics this summer.


Lucasfilm and Marvel announce that the two will team up on new "Star Wars" comics in 2015, coinciding with the first Disney release of the movie franchise.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Dave Filoni says that despite recent reports, the Darth Maul comic book miniseries is not the scrapped finale storyline.

This was poster earlier in another thread, by Mr. Negativity, But I'll add it here, as it seems more at home.

I did some research, and it is 12 new episodes being eveloped for Disney's streaming service. This in and of itself isn't enough to get me to join up, (all the streaming services being announced this weekend at SDCC is a whole other issue...) I'll wait for a home media release, but this news was definitely unexpected, and great to hear. I never thought we'd get to go back and actually get a proper end to the series. This really is unique, and I'm going to enjoy it very much. With all the negativity around SW, It's nice to be excited for a change.

Considering that most SF TV series get cancelled and left on an unresolved cliffhanger, I want to applaud this, but there's no getting away from the fact that this is bait for Disney's streaming service. Hopefully it will get a blu-ray release at some point.
