A few unboxing videos of the steelbooks have hit YouTube and, gosh, they look so gorgeous. Packaging like this turns these into real art objects, not just perfunctory cases. It's like the difference between a record cover and a CD jewel case. I guess the disc stacking is a minor annoyance but, frankly, I find getting a record out of its sleeve to be an incredibly frustrating experience but I still think vinyl is one of the coolest ways to engage with music.

^ Apparently Mill Creek worked closely with Tsuburaya on the artwork (at least according to a tweet from Sci-fi Japan replying to an inquiry about the design) and I love the thought that they put towards the presentation - in both the standard and steelbook editions.

I'm sure they will eventually get to those series. The BRD of both those were released in japan a year-to-two ago. But instead of paying $150 for a single BRD, it will be 1/10th that price, which is far more reasonable.

Speaking of which...It's amazing how far we've come. Getting the original Ultraman in HD for a little over $20, for the entire series, as opposed to back in 1991- paying $20 for a garbage quality umpteenth generation VHS of 5 episodes someone taped off of TV in the early 80's.

So does Mill Creek have the license for Towards the Future and Powered Up? I'm just wondering because I was planning to review Powered Up using the downloards I got from Gorizard, but if it has indeed been licensed, I'll just wait for the official release.

^ Of the several pre-90s Ultraman theatrical releases most were just episode compilations, sometime with new footage (like a movie that added a more spectacular Ultraman v. Batman fight to the end of the original episode #3).

Of the pre 90's *Movies*. 7 Ultramen vs the Monster Army (aka the one with Hanuman) can take a flying leap for all I care. But I would like to see The Ultraman Story as I *thought* it was all new, I could be mistaken though. Zophy as I understand is mostly recycled footage as well. I also hope we get the animated film "The Adventure Begins", I still have the VHS released by US Renditions a quarter century ago, but it would be nice to see in HD.

My friend is the best! I've only got a part time job so I haven't been able to buy much of anything for myself and won't until I either a second or a full-time job. He texts me asking if I pre-ordered, obviously I didn't. A few hours later he texts me with the image of his amazon order of 2 copies of Ultra Q and Ultraman with "Whoops, bought too many. Guess I'll have to give them to you."

Ugh, that new Baltan fight is so fun!



I'd also love to see the "Akio Jissoji's Ultraman" compilation film brought to Blu as well, since it seems like a fun movie night for people who haven't seen anything from the franchise yet.

There's an unboxing video for the regular editions now up on YouTube. Both series come in a 7 disc case despite there only being 4 and 6 discs. My guess is they were being proactive to keep the case sizes the same for the series that will need 7 discs.

^ That makes sense. Other companies make cases, so they just decided on one case that could accommodate any series.

I watched probably the same video and was really impressed with the look of everything. The booklets look awesome! Can't wait to get those in my hands!
