Finished Rune Soldier Louie, still a fun adventure show with a goofy guy & a bevy of ladies.

Blasted through Brave Witches, it was more heartfelt & a bit more action packed than Strike Witches.

I've tried unsuccessfully in the past to get my son into Gundam, which I understand, its a lot to take in. Fortunately he's been getting into SRW games with me lately, so he showed enough interest in Gundam Unicorn to watch the series(mostly because he saw it on Netflix, even though i have it on DVD...)

I admit it's an odd place to start, but I don't think any of us western fans can complain, most got their start with Gundam Wing on Toonami in 2000. I personally saw my first Gundam film (F91) in 1993-1994 (somewhere around there) and saw 0080,0083, and the original MS Gundam 3-film series all before the craze of *Wing* in 2000.

We binged through Unicorn the past couple of days, then I showed him a Youtube video of most of the different Gundam opening sequences. He wanted to try G Gundam. This series for me is totally fun, so we watched the first dozen or so episodes yesterday. He seems to be enjoying it.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

That's cool that you are passing down the love of anime to a younger generation.

I gave my future "nephew in law" a copy of the 2004 Astro Boy show, but I'm not sure if he ever watched it.

Anyhow, I watched disc 2 of Nerima Daikon Brothers, the rest of disc 2 of Kiddy Girl-And, all of Black Butler Season 1, and the first 4 episodes of the original Tenchi Muyo (Blu-Ray).
Man the HD quality of that Tenchi set is great!
I never noticed that Ryoko had nipples in the hot springs episode, she also seemed to possibly have hair "down there".

Hopefully OVA 4 (and if they make a 5) will get dubbed soon.

We watched the first two episodes to Boogiepop and Others. So far, it is "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!"! I do love how the characters look more like teenagers compared to Phantom (which had Nagi looking like she was 30). My only complaint is that the animation looks way too bright and clean. I really miss the grainy misty look of Phantom. Plus, even though the music is great, it's also doesn't have that wickedly awesome industrial sound to it. Nevertheless, I am saddened there are only two episodes so far because I want more and I want them now.

Who has the license for this show? I hope the dub brings back some of the actors from the Phantom dub, specifically the main cast.

Nobody has announced the licence to the new Boogiepop & Others that I know of.

There is a live action movie that is under the Right Stuf banner.

Watching Mob Psycho 100 and Megalobox on Toonami. Both are quite excellent.

I think Megalobox will really appeal to old school anime fans, what with it's retro '80s/'90s style. It's even animated in a lower resolution and then upscaled, giving it a pseudo VHS look.

I hated the anime, and I fully agreed with this review of it:
https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/netflixs- ... f-a-series

I find a little something positive in MOST Godzilla movies, even the ones I really hate, AND even in those ones I really hate, I can kinda see how they might appeal to someone, somewhere, ESPECIALLY as I've become a father and many of the ones I hate are ones my 3 and 4 year olds enjoy.

I find very VERY little to say anything positive about with this anime, and it is only through borderline unwilling, clenched teeth that I admit there are ANY positives at all, and those I fully admit (with unclenched teeth) are miniscule in terms of their ability to even remotely stand against their MANY negatives. Furthermore, I legitimately have a hard time believing people actually ENJOY this, because what positives DO exist aren't on a level of entertainment or the way a VISUAL medium like a movie WORKS.

Utter garbage. I've hated every second of them.
Gills.

Watched Sword of the Stranger on Blu-Ray, man this looked GREAT!
Cool action, nice story, and of course good music/visuals.

Also watched the Pokemon movie Pikachu I Choose You movie (via Netfllix), it was fun & cute.
It was a bit weird seeing Pokemon from other regions hanging out in Kanto.

First off, we bought out tickets for Gundam NT.

Secondly, we watched episodes 3 and 4 are Boogiepop and Others. Now that they have completed the first story arc I need to rewatch the first three episodes again. It was terrific and I really want to see what Funimation does with their dubbed version of it. From what I hear they recast everyone from the Phantom dub, which is a shame that they didn't at least get Crispin Freeman to reprise his role. Well whatever, that's for another discussion later.

Both episodes were great, though, the animation seemed to take a dip in quality. Like one scene the character's faces disappeared. It wasn't like in the first episode when they had a big crowd of people and their faces were missing since they were meant to be nobodies (at least, I'm hoping that's why they didn't draw their faces and it wasn't just laziness), no, this was the trio of characters got up, started to walk towards the screen and their faces disappeared. Also, the battle scene between Echoes and the Manticore looked Dragonball Super levels of bad.

The fourth episode, which kicked off the next book was great. It ended way too soon though. I want the rest of this story now.

Bought Princess Principle at work for a bit under $40 (was normally $50).
Watched an episode, and thought it was interesting.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

So if interested the Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online series is on Netflix now (with English dub).
It's kinda a rather violent "cute girls do cute things with guns" show.
Though kinda surprised Kirato doesn't make a small cameo.

It's 12 episodes long.

Other than that I bought a Blu-Ray copy of the Ghost in the Shell anime movie.
There's a 20% sale going on at Half Price Books, and it was still in its shrink wrap ($6.99 after discount).
Sale goes through Monday (Presidents Day), so check out your local stores.

Getting slowly caught up on Yamato 2202. I saw the first 13 episodes subbed, and have never bothered to listen to Funimation's dub, until recently (watched episodes 14-16 with the dub). It's actually not half bad. Still odd that they call it "Star Blazers" yet all the original Japanese names for the characters and ships are maintained... 8) .

Also I've been trying to cross off some other series son my bucket list, namely all the Brave Series. I've of course seen/own GaoGaiGar on DVD, but I've wanting to go back and watch the others, most of them are fan subbed on Youtube now. I got about 5 episodes into ExKaiser. It is a fun watch, but then my son wanted to go back and watch GGG, because he's never seen it all the way through...so I guess my expansion list will be put on hold to revisit a familiar, but wonderful classic 8) .

Watched the 4 parter Boogiepop at Dawn today and that was a damn good story. The best of the season as the story was so interesting, but god damn you can see where all of the cut corners were in the animation. I don't understand why they are trying to cram 18 episodes into 12 weeks when they can barely keep up with one a week. I really hope they fix the animation for the BD release because the lack of eyes on the faces is really getting annoying. It's starting to make the animation in Dragonball Super look like a Miyazaki film.

Finally got around to finishing Kiddy Girl-And.
It was OK.

Watched the rest of disc one of Princess Principal, now that is pretty good.

Just getting started into Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. I was able to get the first 2 Blu-ray volumes (which encompass half the series) on a great deal.I was going to binge 4 or 5 last night, but it was later than I thought so I only saw the first one (curse you DST!!!). Also, while I appreciate Funimations extra efforts with the series, actually commissioning a dub, and not just subs. The releases are all over the place. There is a BRD/DVD combo, a BRD/Digital combo, and an ultra deluxe box set that has both halves together, but a bunch of bonuses I'm not really into, but I'm sure hardcore fans would appreciate (artbook, model kit etc...). I'm just not sure why they didn't make the combo all 3 formats (DVD, BRD & Digital)? I almost chose the wrong one the first time, and as it is, my S1V1 set came error packed with 3 BRD and only 1 dvd (Instead of 2&2). But I guess I'd have that error, than the other way around.

I just hope it's worth it for all the effort Funimation put into distributing this series, as opposed to Sunrise directly.

Finished Princess Principal, heard they are gonna do some movies to flesh out the story.
Hopefully those hit pretty quickly.

Just in case the new Ultraman anime will be hitting Netflix on April 1.

I went back to Kinokunia again and got yet another Studio Ghibli puzzle.
Another My Neighbor Totoro one with clear plastic pieces featuring the medium blue Totoro & the larger grey one.
They are surrounded by what looks like marbles & other small items.

Sold a bunch of stuff, mostly cause I decided that I didn't really like them.

Did the random anime game and watched these:

First 4 episodes of Girls Und Panzer, still a rather fun show, and the big "reveal" about where they have their school is still great.

Disc 1 of Agent AiKa, man there's so many panty shots, it's hard not get "excited"...

Gatchaman OVA ('90s) 3 episode version of the Gatchaman story, and still really really good. Tempted to get this on Blu-Ray soon.

More random anime...

Disc 3 of Nerima Daikon Brothers, the story ends in a rather odd fashion...

Episode 3 of World of Narue, where they intro the Sailor Moon/Nanoha-like anime within an anime in Magical Girl #4.
Just in case this was dubbed in New York with both Lisa Ortiz & Veronica Taylor involved in the dub.

Then disc 2 of Girls Und Panzer the girls win their first few battles, and then the bombshell about the school being closed happens...
