When I saw the first teaser trailer at Comic Con (not the oppenheimer one) the Male Muto was considerably different than the finished product. If you were to put it side by side with the finished product, outside of a the head, you would think they were designed for different movies.
Here's the rub, we know what Ghidorah is supposed to look like, yet Ghidorah doesn't make sense in a practical application (i know, it's a movie) Big trunk, stumpy legs and wings that just stick out like jazz hands. If they keep a powerful and familiar look, especially the heads, maybe make the legs a little more proportional and functional along with wings that can aid in walking OR fold back out of the way, I'm cool with that.
What he have here applies to Pacific Rim as well.....They are not making these movies just for us fans....it's for everyone so my perspective is this:
We fans get what has been so far a good Monsterverse, Godzilla looks like a Godzilla, new monsters and now familiar ones
The designs need to be readily recognizable, but us old fans have to accept changes in designs because
People are more savvy now, not only do we have to suspend disbelief, but also they need to make the designs make sense for new fans.
So if they are CLOSE, and KG is the hardest to nail because a moth and dinosaur are easy to replicate easily, a three-headed, two-tailed flying space dragon, not so much.
Patience.
You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!
