Kamen Rider Amazonz S1 now up on Amazon Prime!!!

For some reason they call it Amazon Riders, but the first season of Kamen Rider Amazons is now up on Prime. Translations seem fine, but I hate the black box surrounding them. Still, it's about time. First episode was amazing!

Finished the season today. It was absolutely fantastic, though Amazon's subtitles suck ass when they are shown infront of a white background. There were times when the subs blended into the background, rendering them unreadable. Anyway, I got a lot of Agito and Kuuga feels from the show, which is great. I really hope it doesn't take Amazon another year to give us the second season as that would suck.

I finished S1 last night. And it was a lot better than I expected, in fact it was outstanding. They got me to actually care about what happens to the characters. I felt the pain as the Extermination team was disbanded. Not to mention . If Season 2 is anywhere near as good as the first, Amazon had better get it soon! And speaking about the Extermination team, does anyone know if this is the first time a "monster hunting/fighting" team has been a featured part of a Kamen Rider series?

Season 2 starts off as a hot mess of new characters and gaps in time, but it backfills everything before its over and ends up a very solid story. Just be ready to be confused a little for the first few episodes.

Jesus, I know people told me that Amazons' second season was pretty bad, but what they didn't tell me is that it is utterly boring. It's so boring that even Iron Fist would be like, "DAMN!"

What the hell happened? First off, when the hell did they suck out the color Zack Snyder style while inserting lens flares Abrams galore? Secondly, there is no chemistry with the new cast. I don't feel like they are a team as half of the time they're just sitting in a room looking bored and the actors talk as if they were bored out of their minds. The thing that made the team from the first season great was there was a sense of comaraderie between the cast. None of that is present here.

Then there is the new kid's sudden interest in necrophilia. Like seriously? Does he really want to crack open a cold one that badly? Or he is just hoping for maximum shrinkage below his belt? Nevertheless, so far he is as interesting as wallpaper. He has no sense of personality, no individuality, and all he does is mope about. Then we have Banjou's actor, who serves no purpose whatsoever. Not to mention he and his friends are utterly unlikable. Then again, NO ONE in this show is likable so far. Everything is as monotonous as its color scheme.

What happened between the two seasons? At first, I was glad to finally get to see the second season since the first ended without completing its story. Now, I'm wishing there was no second season because it doesn't even feel like it is even trying to conclude the unfinished story. It seems to have started a whole new plot without explaining jack "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" to the audience. Add on top horrible editing, unremarkable, misplaced music, and you have yourself a pile of "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!".

This is going to be tough to get through the remaining 10 episodes I have to watch.

Episode 8 starts to right the ship. It pays off imho, but the first half is really rough

Nah, i disagree with that math. theres 26 episodes to the series so three quarters of the series is worth it. Even if you are looking at the second season as standalone, it still isn't 80% off. A lot of whats going on does tie back heavily into the final episodes of season 1, so I'd say it's worth the slog, they really should have played it out chronologically though, because it doesn't appear to be going anywhere for a bit because of that bad decision

We watched 4-7 last night and while things got a little better, it was still beyond boring. The first episode that featured the 20 minute date between the living dead girl and the dude who wants to crack open a cold one was so friggin terrible. The next episode was probably the best because it focused more on the characters from the first season over the new guys who are not even remotely interesting. Hell, the leader of the new team sits around 90% of the time looking bored. How is that exciting?

Episode 6 was more of the same, but at least the Rose dude was cool. As for the last episode we watched, I don't get how necro kid is Jin's son as Jin is way too young to have a 20 year old son. He's either got to be adopted or a test tube baby.

We finished the second season tonight and what a crock of "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" it was. I'm sorry, but I didn't think it got all that much better at all. The eighth episode was horribly edited together and tried to cram way too much information into such a small timeframe.

The ninth episode pretty much killed off like a million characters and I didn't feel a single bit of sadness for any of them as they were all useless anyway. Although, it's a nice social commentary on the Japanese retirement system as even when the dude with the glasses gets ripped apart, he's still working. I guess he's only a part-time employee now. Though, I hate half days personally, so that sucks for him.

I feel like the rest of the show was an allegory for the fandom's feelings on Chiharu. That dude sucked and the show writers clearly knew it as they were handing him his ass at every second possible. Good riddance as he was a lackluster character from start to finish and so utterly unlikable. I get what they were trying to do with him, but they failed on so many levels thanks to his poor acting, uninteresting writing, and just generic all around. The necrophilia stuff was some pointless too. Of course, the part that pissed me off the most is that they spent all that time on this waste of skin and they didn't even bother showing his final battle. What a god damn "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" let down that was. There was no payoff to him at all.

I also didn't understand Mamoru this season either. I had no idea whose side he was supposed to be on nor what the hell his purpose was. It seemed like they just cleared up that plot with a McGuffin weapon because Toei didn't even know what to do with it.

Nanaha being the villain was also dumb.

Finally, my last complaint is not on the show itself, but Amazon. They didn't subtitle the post-credit scene with Tachibana. -_- I got the gyst of what was being said with my basic knowledge, but what the hell did they not sub it?

God I hope the movie rectifies all of the garbage writing from this season, but the fact that I can clearly see why Zi-O is a piece of "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" series given its done by the same dude as this one.

i haven't seen the movie yet, but heard it was a step down from S1 and S2 (from someone that liked S2) but it has some heavy implications on the series.

We watched the movie tonight in the hopes it would rinse that second season down. How they managed to make it worse, I do not know. Good god was this movie down right boring. I thought it was supposed to be a send off for the characters, but apparently the message of the film is that filler tastes great. Spoiler warning btw.

"Remember when cannibalism was a wholesome family meal? Pepridge Farms remembers."

That's all I can think of with the whole Principal Skinner and his free range children plot. What the hell? How did this even become a thing? When was this thing plotted out? How many years did it take for this event to occur? The way the characters act very little time has passed since the second season ended. Of course, given that the writers decided they were tired of the blindness subplot, so they just randomly gave Jin his sight back, who knows. Maybe it is year's later even though none of the characters reflect that.

Nothing happened for the first 70 minutes and then when something happened, it was over before you even had the chance to enjoy it. At this point, if someone asked me if I would recommend Amazons I would tell them no. The first season was great, but rest of the show makes it not worth the investment at all.

The final fight between Jin and Haruka makes the final fight between Kuuga and Dezuba look amazing. In fact, I felt like this fight was no different than the one they had at the end of the first season, which means it was as irrelevant as the rest of the crap that came after. Oh yeah, then there was the one dude with the glasses from the second season that did absolutely nothing the entire movie. There was even one point where he just froze in his position with his mouth open as if someone had paused him. The best part of the movie was how ridiculous Tachibana was when he got shot in the leg by Mr Boredom. The dude was just utterly hilarious in how he was responding to getting shot as if it were a Monty Python skit.

Overall, it was an utter let down and one of the worst Kamen Rider movies out there.
