Great actor but I've never seen FMJ. I've seen him in things like Tales from the Crypt and the TCM remake.

He WAS Full Metal Jacket, imo. He was also great in the remake of Willard. R.I.P. "Gunney"

Always liked him. Legit guy.
And, he's great in a lot of his roles (and some great movies to boot):
Full Metal Jacket
Toy Story
The Frighteners
Saving Silverman
TCM remake (he's easily the best part of the movie)
Those last two (to me) show he had a little bit of range. Yeah, he's still an intimidating borderline psycho, but he was more screwball and goofy in Silverman and actually more serious and stoic in TCM.
