It will be a micro series much like the 3 mini episodes that lead up to Justice League Gods & Monsters. But I compare it more to something like GI Joe Resolute, so as to have a frame of reference. I have been looking forward to this for a very long time. It will be short, but hopefully if it does well, Hasbro will be inspired to invest more in animation, instead of just having animated series at their 8-12 year old target audience, in additiona, why not release one animated film per year for teens/adults based on the vast lore of the Transformers across all eras (like what DC does) that would be amazing. I'd definitely be up for that.

Also I should add this will be a very "loose" interpretation of the toys/comic series. Optimus Prime was a big part of Combiner Wars, with his absence, the story has to take an entirely different direction. Also in IDW's CW, combiner Transformers had previously existed, they were just very rare. The Enigma of Combination gave rise to several new teams however. I'm ok with this story being told from a different point of view, Just like the DC animated films however, fans should expect a very lose interpretation, not a faithful shot-for-shot copy of what happened in the comics.

unfortunately this is currently only accessible to US residents, however I have a strong feeling this will be on Youtube before long, all the previews were. Anyway, for a 5 minute episode, the first 2 or so minuets were pretty good. Nice big combiner battle, just what I wanted. Then Windblade comes in (ugh...) we knew going in she was going to be a major player, but . Thus we have our Mary Sue. Overall I give it a 3 out of 5 for a nearly flawless first half, and a less than stellar second half. Still I look forward to seeing more in the coming weeks.

^ Oh how naïve I was , CW unfortunately turned into a dumpster fire as we all know. But for some odd reason, Hasbro only looked at the amount of views, not what those viewers opinions were and decided to give Machinima a deal to make 2 more of these (ugh...)

anyway, for good or ill, The first two episodes of Transformers: Titans Return are now up on go90.com. Only viewers in the United States have access to this. Last year non-US residents had access through Youtube, that is not the case yet...but some unofficial versions have popped up on youtube already, so view them any way you can if you are interested. It's not as bad as CW was, but that's not saying much. It Still has a ton of flaws, but one episode a week will be uploaded for the next 9 weeks on Tuesday Mornings until the series reaches its conclusion.


*edit* if Mr. negativity happens to pop in here, would you mind changing the title of the thread to Machinima Prime wars trilogy or something similar? Just a thought so it covers everything for the foreseeable future.

I tried watching T:CW on the Go90 site yesterday -- I'm not sure what went wrong but the picture kept turning into big splotches of different colors. Fortunately (I guess) Hasbro but all of T:CW on Youtube -- it looks great (a proper half hour show animate), and the concept has (had?) a lot of promise but boy it does not live up to it.

I think the single biggest let down was when Starscream

Halfway through Titans Return and honestly the only thing I like (because it's dumb) is Southern Overlord.
That and Sassy Megatron are the only highlights here.

hate to burst your bubble but there are going to be 10 episodes... . The pain isn't quite half way over yet. I've heard many people say the same about Overlord. The Japanese version from Masterforce is way more to my liking, but then of course I would not expect to see something mimicking that in this series, this is closer to his IDW counterpart. I guess we can only hope for a major showdown at some point between Megatron and Overlord.

Oddly enough if you look at Preceptor, and Overlord you can tell they have their Titan Masters, but much like CW mostly ignoring the components that make up the larger bots, I doubt outside Emissary we will see any of the actual Titan Masters separate from their bodies. The budget just isn't there, unfortunately.

I finished the series earlier this week. The last episode was really anticlimactic as the main threat of all of Titans Return (a Starscream-possesed Trypticon), was brought to nothing in a mere second. But the appearance of Megatornus (voiced by mark Hamill), was a surprise that is generating buzz despite this series overall lackluster nature, plus all the voice talent they've signed on for the 3rd part of the trilogy. Despite Ron Perlman's reputation, you can bet fans are pissed they didn't get Gary Chalk to return as Optimus Primal.
