Probably one of the most disturbing films about nuclear war, the BBC movie "Threads" is(finally!) coming to Blu-ray at the end of the month. I saw this back in '84 when it was shown on TBS and it remains a favorite to this day. This movie takes place in Sheffield, England and begins approx. a month before the missiles fly and goes from the day after, to a week after, to over a year after, chronicling mans descent back into the dark ages. Be forewarned, this movie pulls no punches and is quite depressing. But for anyone interested in seeing a realistic portrayal of nuclear war and it's outcome, this is a must see. This will be the first legitimate release here in the States and is one I've been looking forward to for quite some time! And since my "unofficial" copy just went paws-up, the timing couldn't be better. Just thought I'd pass the info along for anyone interested...
