Ron Howard Steps in to Direct Han Solo Movie (Exclusive)



The director, who once was offered 'Phantom Menace,' will be taking over the Han Solo movie from ousted filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Howard makes a lot of sense for what they're doing: old pro, consulate professional who can go in there, do the job, and get out while creating the least amount of friction possible in these circumstances.

I think it'll be called Solo: A Star Wars Story in print and advertising, and then just Solo on-screen in the movie itself.

Was hoping the title would've been changed to 'Lando' after the change in directors.

Donald Glover is great, and maybe also Lando sings? No evidence in the OT that he doesn't sing!

They can't do another trilogy right after the sequel trilogy. I feel very strongly that the trilogies should be separated by a bit of time.

Of course, popular cheaters from the sequel trilogy could easily get their own spinoffs movies.

Disney and LucasFilm RAN with the sale and kinda screwed themselves. Obviously not where it matters (money), but in terms of having an actual plan and knowing what to do and where to go and how to do it and who to bring on board, they’ve faltered mightily. I’m not TOO ready to burn effigies of Kenned and claim Star Wars is no longer interesting, but I think the goodwill can and will only last so long before I start agreeing with sentiments like the one Henry expressed.
Just not there QUITE yet.
