Warner Archive just announced the Gwangi Blu!

As we suspected, my favorite stop-motion dinosaur is finally going to make its blu-ray debut!!!




No release date yet however, and it only contains one special feature "Return to the Valley featurette with SFX wizard Ray Harryhausen". Thought perhaps, they would include the dino section from "The Animal World" as they did in the DVDs.

The turnaround for the Archive's announcement to release date is brief. I imagine we'll get this in a month or so.

Sweet! I only saw this movie within the last two years via Netflix DVD. Been really tempted to buy the DVD but so glad I held out for the BD!

March 14 is the release date for Gwangi. Exactly a month from the announcement.

Yup, I just got an automatic e-mail from Blu-ray.com, stating that it will become available in four weeks! How cool is that!

Universal releases the Dracula and Mummy Legacy Collections on Blu-Ray on May 16!

I imagine Invisible Man and Creature will be out in time for Halloween.

From Funimation May 30th ($29.98 SRP). Of course unfortunately this is only the English Dub. However it beats trying to get the Lionsgate DVD set from 2007 which is OOP.

Discotek has been getting a lot of great Matsumoto series. If they could only pry Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers) from Voyagers hands.

Looks like along with Batman TB&TB season 3 Blu ray, they are releasing a couple of more items that have been long awaited...

March 14th I can finally complete this series, as I never saw this on TV, and have never been able to see it online

and...March 28th they are finally starting this:

So after March 28th...the only DC Animation not to get a home media release by WB will be Filmation's Superboy from the 1960's, Static Shock seasons 2-4, and Legion of Superheroes Season 2....almost there...

Rumor time: KINO's apparently hit the motherland in terms of Disney-owned TV movies from the '70s, which means we might see The Night Stalker and The Night Strangler on Blu-Ray soon.

Oooh, Kino had licensed The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly from MGM and will release, for the first time on Blu-Ray, the original US theatrical version!

For those who don't know: TGTBTU received a bit of Lucas-esque special edition around the early '00s which fiddled with the sound effects and re-inserting scenes deleted from the original English language version. Unfortunately, no English audio existed for those scenes, so the characters were dubbed by the distractingly older sounding Eastwood and Wallach, while Van Cleef who was dubbed by an impressionist.

The Warner Archive has announced six catalog titles getting Blu-Ray releases next month, including From Hell It Came! That's right, the movie with the half-man, half-tree monster. I think it's safe to say that any genre film the studio owns is likely for release.
