Sorry, but I'm just not a fan of Powell's artwork (nor his sh*t writing), and his cover for this looks very bland.

As long as he does an occasional cover than can skipped in favor of alternatives and has absolutely nothing to do with the writing and interior art duties, then count me interested/intrigued in this title...

^Apparently, Powell is just one of several guest artists doing covers (and only covers) for the series.

I'd really like it if BOOM collected the 6 issue Kong adaptation put out by Fantagraphics in the early '90s. That was also made with the Cooper estate's involvement.

CBR reports this has been bumped up to an ongoing series.

I'm 2 issues in. Not really digging the Kong origin they have opted for. We'll see if skull island plays a bigger role in future issues

I just picked up the two issues yesterday. Haven't read them yet but they look interesting and more giant monster comics the better.

Looked through a copy of #2 at my local shop today and the art looks pretty cool! Some wonderfully detailed giant creatures.

i didnt like the last series they did (that somehow went 12 issues) - since they are ok with crossovers (which is a Toho no-no) maybe they would be ok with a humorous Kong series (which was another apparent Toho no-no to the comics team) - no point in trying to ape the Legendary Kong especially considering the Legendary Kong has its own series

... or maybe BOOM could collect the Kong adaptations from Gold Key and Fantagraphics. Those were licensed by the Cooper Estate, and I'm really interested in reading them.
