So I have this on preorder from Best Buy since I get 20% off games from them well used games I only get 10% off and they said my release date is now June 18th

I'm sure this is just a mistake but if not then that's pretty sweet, will give me time to level up some monsters for my nephew to play with when I take him for a day on my vacation.

Some of the character introductions in that video are fantastic. I love that bit with classic MechaGodzilla rising up above the hill. That's just the sort of thing you'd see in the Showa films.

Apparently the PS4 version is also going to feature new maps, and bigger versions of the ones currently found in the PS3 version, which is great because I thought some of them looked a bit small in the PS3 gameplay videos I've watched. So I'm very pleased to hear they're be more stuff to destroy in the PS4 one.

The PS4 version should have more replayablity than the PS3 version due to the fact of online Multiplayer and all the monsters being playable in all the modes. If you look at this as a fighting game then yeah you're going to be dissapointed. This isn't a fighting game persay it's a hybrid of Godzilla Generations with some fighting elements.

English language version of the trailer that came out a few weeks ago:



It doesn't say it at the end of this version of the trailer because it's the European one, but apparently the Showa filter that's a pre-order bonus for the game in Japan will also be a pre-order bonus in the US as well.

Thankfully though it sounds like it's an early-unlock thing, just like the "Hollywood Godzilla" pre-bonus was in the Japanese PS3 version (and will be again here), so the filter should be available in all versions of the game on PS4 regardless of whether or not you pre-order, or what region you're in.

Apparently the latest issue of Famitsu has confirmed Rodan and Anguirus are in as the (likely final) new monsters. No word on which versions they'll be though, but good news either way!

Oh HELL yes!!! Classic Showa Rodan AND Anguirus?!?!?! I was honestly expecting Heisei Rodan and Millennium Anguirus, I really didn't think we'd get the Showa versions of both. Great, great news!

You've probably already seen this from Gormaru as well, but it looks like the 1974 MechaGodzilla is another new character, alongside the previously-announced 1975 "Terror" version!



Kind of random having both Showa MechaGodzillas in there, but hey, I'll take any new characters they want to add!

Wow, this game is just getting better and better. That Rodan looks phenomenal! It would be awesome if they're secretly working on other versions of Godzilla. I'd love to see some Showa incarnations like a '64 or '68...

Heck, how cool would it be if they made multiple skins for each monster? They've already got MechaG 1 & 2. For monster incarnations with basically the same powers/skills they could just do skins. For example, they could make more skins for that Rodan such as the '64, '65, or '68 Rodan. Or they could make pretty much every Showa Godzilla as different skins for one model. Ugh. The possibilities!

It's fan art. There's always a chance they might turn up as secret characters or DLC, but they're not known to be in the game at the moment.

As for the reveal of both forms of Battra and Godzilla 1964, if I could post the clip from Predator of Arnold saying "Dis is gedding beddah by da minute!" I would, because it really is! I hope the latter will actually be available for us in the west though, either as a yet-to-be-announced pre-order bonus or just as an unlockable in the main game (especially since the European version only seems to be getting the 'instant access to LegendaryGoji' bonus and not the 'Showa filter' one that's also available in the US, though that also seems to be something you can just unlock through gameplay). I'd gladly pay extra to download it day-one if they just put it up on the marketplace, but hopefully this is just another early unlock thing and he's in the game for everyone regardless. Either way, great news!

Also, the official Japanese website appears to confirm that 3-player online multiplayer is also possible, not just 2, which means those sweet-looking triple monster battles won't just be limited to single player mode! Woohoo!

I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised to see Anguirus and Showa Rodan revealed (though I hope Anguirus' graphics improve significantly by the time the final product is finished...he looks barely better than the Atari Piperworks games. Rodan looks great though). Definitely steps in the right direction Though, seriously, 4 MechaGodzillas??! If they must have another Mecha in this game, then why not include Mogera to vary things up? Anyways, that grip aside, I also think including Mosu-Goji as a playable character is a great move and a no-brainer that shockingly no game company has ever tried with a Godzilla game. I haven't been impressed with the "VS" trailers, but the recent news of the expanding roster (with Battra/Battra Larva) is starting to pique my interest. A few more non-mecha/Heisei additions to this roster and we could have something really interesting going on with this game.

Also, throw in some Pagodas and Japanese Castles to destroy!
