Hell, the last GOOD movie he made was 2005's Munich, and that's not GREAT. Even if you think it is, I don't think many will argue that Crystal Skull, Tin Tin, War Horse, or Lincoln are GREAT movies. So it's been at BEST 10 years since Spielberg made a good movie and probably a good deal more since he made a GREAT one (Catch Me if You Can? Minority Report? Saving Private Ryan?)
Is Steven Spielberg a BAD get for this? No, obviously not. But his name doesn't inspire the same level of "HOLY CRAP! YUSSSSS!" excitement as it once did. And I'm not 100% convinced Chris Pratt himself is a STAR yet. He's getting there, but he's not a Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey draw just yet.
