I was at ToysRus today and saw a non-battle damage Knifehead on the shelf. It was in a square box with clear plastic windows for $25. The detail on it was beautiful, but I was a little surprised at how big it was.

Arg, I probably should have bought it. I was thinking how I didn't need it since I have the series 1 version.

Just got Axehead. It's pretty badass, IMO. The new/recylced parts and colors make it feel new enough to warrant a buy. I just love that green wash; it mixes nicely with the blue and yellow. Believe it or not, I'm totally up for more concept figures. Really glad I picked it up.

I have no PacRim toys at present. I want Gipsy and Otachi to be my first purchases.

Got Gipsy danger 2.0...

And it was defective. :/

The torso joint was crooked in the package, and when I attempted to move it, the joint snapped. Seriously, forget calling it stiff, I'd describe that joint as solid as a brick.

So I'll be returning it to TRU and get a full refund. Cant really exchange it, since it's no longer listed on their online store. Thankfully, gamestop got their Gipsys in, so I can just grab one from them in the meantime.

Gipsy makes up over 40% of the Jeagers. Same for Knifehead with the kaiju.

Entered. I also entered some of the other contests they had running. I never win anything, but I may as well enter it anyhow.

Ha! Have my first PacRim figure: the Hong Kong battle version of Gipsy Danger! I didn't want to get any figures before Gipsy and Gipsy always seemed to sell out first, hence my lack of figures. I feel NECA understood this problem, because the display stand at Toys R Us was all Gipsy Danger!

She's pretty tall, too. Bigger than the similarly scaled NECA Legendgoji.

Picked up GD 2.0 today. Its so close to being perfect. All that's missing is ankle tilts and better lateral hip motion. But anyway.... wow, is it incredibly detailed. I was ok with the 1.0, but side by side the 1.0 looks like a smoothed out prototype compared to the panel-lined and extra sculpted details of the 2.0. In particular, I really like the piston detail in the upper thighs which was completely absent on the previous figure. The bicep swivels coupled with the replaceable fists allow you to do a fist-in-hand pose which is really cool. The boat club and the blade are also excellent accessories. My blade is slightly curved which I'm still working out. If only there were a blaster accessory to fit over the forearm......

Eyeing up the new non-damage Knifehead on toysrus.com now to full replace my 1.0's.

The Amazon listing for Otachi says "(Land Version)".. is Otachi being released in different variations (eg Flying version)?

Yeah, which I totally saw coming even if NECA hadn't mentioned it ages ago (during Toy Fair or SDCC, whenever we first saw Otachi) because there was no way they were going to design the wings to unfold. I think the original plan was that this Otachi would have the spit and the closed wings, while the baby would come with the winged version until it was stuck into this release instead. Doing it this way gives people more incentive to buy the first Otachi rather than wait it out for a winged version that I suspect people wanted more.

Nah, that makes sense. I think that's why I may end up not getting an Otachi at all.

NECA has released a painted version for showing of Horizon Brave along with the new Gipsy Danger. Looks good and they said they are going to start doing some sort of feedback for next wave possibilities.

https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status/56 ... 05/photo/1

In addition to having the baby Otachi included with the land version of the adult, NECA is considering maybe a larger version as a figure as well...
https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status/560422980841656321

and it is "possible" NECA is going to have a deluxe version of Gipsy Danger in the future with dual swords and plasma cannons...

Yeah, "considering"? Already up for preorder.

They should've considered against it.
