Toho Launches Gojikon (Godzilla Strategy Council)

Sounds more like Toho just wants to find creative ways to cash in and make more money on the franchise without having to make more movies.

I don't see Toho doing much with Godzilla until LP has completed their films. That being said, a 4 year gap between each new film leaves plenty of room for Toho to make their own movie...assuming they wanted to. At this point, they can literally stand back and rake in the cash from promotions/cash, movie tie ins, and the eventual new film once that is released. I'm not sure they need to make a new film (though I would be happy if they did).

I hope new toys and stuff like that is not what Toho is thinking. Sure that's fine if your making movies.. But to say making new toys is the best creative route is best, well this gojikon is pointless. Hopefully new movies from Toho come from this.

A web series perhaps? They could make it like an amateur videographer/blogger/kaiju-chaser/GPN type thing to keep the cost low and experiment with techniques (instead of having the same kinds of shots we've seen in past Toho films).

TV show is the way to go yo. If its half as interesting as Gransazers or any of the Ultra Star Gods shows Toho made in the 2000s, I'd call it a win.

If the suits were still good or if they still had the molds, a show that has the G2k Godzilla along with the GFW kaiju could be filmed cheaply, quickly and still be a lot of fun. They could call it something simple like Godzilla Monster Island or Godzilla Wars or something like that.

I think television might be the way to go with Godzilla like what Tsuburaya did with Ultraman. Same format, just have Godzilla take Ultraman's place. It would be a great way to introduce new monsters and we may get a few more iconic creatures in the process.

Doing a TV series, or, in this age of Netflix and downloads, something equivalent to a TV series like short films, seems the best option. You could get name directors to turn in installments in different styles. It could be a lot of fun and allow for experimentation in a way Toho has sadly not been conducive to in the past few decades.

Maybe a co-production with Tsuburaya, one of the few places with the practical effects infrastructure? Hell, a bet Godzilla vs. Ultraman would cause a stir!

Just a though, let's say toho does a Godzilla show, either anime or Tokusatsu, Who will be the main target? children?, adult fans?, who?.

It'll have to be a live action show, not unlike Gransazers (also from Toho). An anime series similar to the old Hanna Barbera cartoon would be a great way to do it, some kind of research group that follows Godzilla everywhere and document the fights he gets into whenever there are other monsters.

Maybe stumble upon conspiracies so the show could have multi-part stories (3 or 4 parters) culminating in the defeat of the monster of that arc

I can only imagine a Godzilla anime being done like Digimon or Pokémon (or Gundam Build Fighters, I hope) style, with Godzilla and co. being partnered with a kid.

The story could tell that the result of big kaiju war, where Mothra, in a desperate moment, sealed all kaijus (herself included), in order to save humanity.

Cue years later when talismans that contain the kaijus are discovered by archeologist (from the far future), only to be attacked by the terrorist organization Red Bamboo, who want the talismans for themselves, but one of the archeologist escape with one of the Talismans (Godzilla). He gaves it to his son before being killed by the red bamboo, and now the child and godzilla will have to find the other talismans and stop the evil Red Bamboo.

Tohos Facebook page posted something new about having some kind of panel discussing the new video game. It mentions Takarada being there, and stuff about blu rays. The translation sucks, but doing things like this helps keep interest in Japan. Hopefully its not the only thing Toho plans on doing. Panels only go so far. Hopefully we get more concrete info soon if they intend to put any kind of production, whether it be a tv show or more movies, into motion.

Toho will probably announce a new film called "Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: MechGodzilla Will Show Just Because."

It's hard to read into this. I think Toho discussing the future of the franchise is a good thing. I also think they would be served well by learning from their past mistakes and taking a page out of Daiei's book and allowing much more time between movies a la Gamera 2/Gamera 3...assuming they decide to make new films. I don't really think there is a reason to make a new film until LP is done with their movies. Is the demand for a new Godzilla movie that high in Japan? I guess that is one of the questions they are probably asking.
