I thought we had the most successful guest director episode yet. Brilliant, really. Makes me want to check out Masaaki Yuasa's other stuff.

And it's great to see the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant return!

I decided to mess with my nephew's head a bit, and told him about an interview with the folks behind Adventure Time and The Regular Show that revealed RS was supposed to take place in the far far future of Ooo. In this "future" of Ooo everyone had become giants and Benson is the sole surviving Gumball Guardian. So far, it seems like my nephew believes me.

Cartoon Network has given series renewals to Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and Clarence.

AT was a shoe-in, naturally, but that's great news about the excellent Steven Universe. I had worried a bit because it's mostly off the schedule during the mid-season break we're having now, but I guess it's just them not wanting to put the show in weekly rotation when they only have a few episodes.

Just watched the last six episodes. I can never remember it's on on Thursdays!

Despite the epic epicness of 'Something Big' (and I dearly loved getting to see The Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant in action) 'Little Brother' was my favorite, one of the best episodes in the entire series. I can't hold with those who get angry that the show focuses on other characters besides Finn and Jake. They're the center, but they're not the whole deal.

Apparently, Season 6 will have less than 5's 52 episodes, but more than the 26 episodes that 1-4 had.

"Little Brother" was a fun episode, it'd be cool if they revisit the world inside the tree in the future.

Here's something to ponder over, the recent episode "Something Big" in which the witch Maja summons Darren the ancient tree & rock creature. In the course of the episode see Darren lose his right arm when Finn & Jake return with the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant to defend the Candy Kingdom.

Alternate versions of Finn have lost their right arms and Finn lost his right arm (twice actually as he also lost it in the Pillow World even though he doesn't remember that part of his life). Could Darren be yet another alternate version of Finn? Finn was attached to the grass sword for awhile, and something about it was responsible for regrowing an apparently normal arm. Further, if Darren is an alternate Finn, could the APTWE be an alternate version of Jake? Darren and APTWE clearly knew each other.

And of course we're left with the mystery of Darren's brain seed, the sparkles/liquid of which restored most of the dead Candy Kingdom troops, and Finn was thoroughly soaked by the substance.

I have heard that 'Something Big' was originally supposed to be that one hour special we were told about some time ago, so I wouldn't be surprised that there was some very important information embedded in the story.

Is the Tandem War Elephant gonna become evil? Seems he's teamed up with Maja.

I wonder if his current arm is really just a manifestation of the grass sword or if it merely aided in his arm's regeneration to keep its hold on Finn?

I hope so then again CN has a thing for throwing away at archs.

Adventure Time is their biggest hit, so I doubt that'll happen. In fact, one thing that kinda worries me is if CN want Ward and Co. to continue the series past its natural end (think Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab, where a new staff continued to make more episodes after the original creators left).

The Joshua and Margaret flashback episode? Yes, yes I did see it. Who the hell knows how that'll pay off!

It's curious that this latest episode, on the surface, contradicts what Jake said about getting his shape shifting powers in the episode where Magic Man steals/locks Jake's abilities (Jake tells Finn that he gained his powers after falling into a puddle).

It's definitely going to be interesting seeing how all this stuff could play out in future episodes.
