Also, a production usually goes through at least three different films before a final film is released to the world. There's the film of the script, the film during production, and the film during editing. Having made several films myself I can tell you that the final film is almost always only about 80% identical to what you imagined when you wrote it or what you thought you were making when you were shooting it. At best. Things are constantly changing over the course of a production. It's very possible they thought Takarada's cameo would've been fine and dandy during principle photography and then it was a total clunker in the edit bay and it very possibly broke their hearts.
You've gotta kill your babies though. Rule number one of filmmaking, yo.
