Well I ended up going out to Best Buy today and picked up both Mario 3D World and Wind Waker since they had them for Buy 1 get 1 50% off.

The unified 3DS/Wii U account patch is now live. My name is gvamptuj if anyone wants to add me to both Wii U and 3DS.

What XvGojira said and yes I agree purchases need to be attached to accounts not hardware.

So what about my Wii stuff when I buy a Wii U? Granted, I'll still be keeping my Wii to play Gamecube games, but can I just put the SD card in my Wii into the Wii U that has all of my virtual console games on it? WHat about my current balance on the Wii (I've got like $7)?

You can do a system transfer from your Wii to your Wii U however your content on your Wii will be deleted and erased I believe at least thats how it is when you do system transfers from a DSi/3DS to another DSi/3DS. Its one of the stupid things Nintendo does.
Oh and I tested things out and there is still some bugs I have like $4.65 in my 3DS wallet but when I logged on the eShop earlier to see if Zelda SNES had been added to the Wii U eshop my balance was at 0 so yeah still some bugs need to be worked out.

Well, I think we're going to just buy a Wii U on Saturday morning if my girlfriend's commissions check for work is accurate. Then I'll have all of Xmas break to play through Wind Waker and Mario World.

So I have another question regarding virtual console games. Can I play the games I have on my 3DS that were on consoles and not handhelds on the WiiU without having to rebuy them? FOr example, I have Zelda 1 and 2 due to the Ambassador program. As such, can I play them on my Wii U so I can actually play them on a tv screen and not a small ass one?

You will indeed have to rebuy them on the Wii U; however if you bought themm on your Wii you can buy the Wii U versions for $0.50 instead of paying the $3.99 fee for them.

Yes you can transfer your games from you Wii to your Wii U but your Wii U will have to be in Wii mode to play them. If you want them on the Wii U virtual console to play on the Gamepad then you need to rebuy them however Nintendo has it so that if you already bought them on the Wii you get stuff at a discount. SNES stuff is only a $1.50 to buy instead of $7.99.

Are you going to pick up the Pro controller Kain? I'd recommend it especially if you plan on getting Monster Hunter.
