Weekly Character Spotlight 26: Godzilla 2004

As a kid my ABSOLUTE favorite Godzilla suit was the 68', but recently I can't help but label this as my favorite. Final Wars is a weird movie, but something I thought it did super well was give some cool updates to classic Kaiju. So here I have Final Wars Godzilla! I love the sleekness of it, the hooded eyes, everything.

First up is the Banpresto Godzilla 2004

I guess Final Wars has grown on me, but it never really grew in my collection despite liking some of the designs a lot.

If I recall the gimmicks aren't anything special, but I pretty much just bought it for the size of the thing.

I thought it would be more popular than it is... I kind of hope to find the Bandai Musuem figure at some point for a decent price. It shows up from time to time on eBay or Yahoo Auctions, but at the same price I could pick up an X-Plus release... Maybe if i see it in person at G-Fest i'll finally pull the trigger.

I totally thought Kaijuzoo had already posted the figure I have, until it was pointed out to me that what I have isn't the standard Bandai, it's the Banpresto! So, here's the Banpresto, one of the few figures I consider superior to the suit on which it's based:

I've noticed this design of Godzilla has been getting a lot of love recently which is nice, it's a horrible movie but a pretty good Godzilla design I think.
