Ben's theory makes sense to me, though it could just be some awful form of shrinking the video size. I'm using a 46 inch Sony Bravia and a PS3 connected via HDMI. I've watched hundreds of DVDs and Blu-rays on this set, but have never encountered this problem before.

If you guys aren't seeing this, I want to take your word for it... But years of knowing Godzilla fans has lead me to believe they sit down in front of the TV and go into some kind of seizure and then report back on their bizarro experiences.

Edit: Here's some stills. Like I said, all frames are not this bad, but the effect is extraordinarily frequent, perhaps every second or more.

Yeah, I never had any interlacing issues on my set. Overall, I thought the picture quality was actually pretty strong. Nice vibrant colours, strong contrast, and suitable black and white levels. The complaint I honestly have is that the picture is a wee bit soft and lacking sharpness, but I think that must be a compression issue in squeezing so many episodes on to six discs.

I think you guys must unfortunately have gotten poor encoded sets, as canofhumdingers suggested.

So I'm finally putting effort towards watching and catching up on all of Ultraseven. I think I'm up to episode 8 or so. I've been trying to watch at least one episode a day.

So far, its pretty hit and miss. I'm only 8 episodes in and they're already starting to all blend together. So far I like the Eleking and Pagassa episodes the best. I'm kind of hoping the series breaks out of the formula presented in these early episodes though, cuz its already getting kind of old. Someone isn't who they seem, kidnap Dan or one of his crew members, said crew member breaks free, fights alien, REPEAT. Its pretty boring compared to the "Giant Monster of the Week" formula of Ultraman.

I'm really hoping this thing picks up.

^The series does get stronger generally, but their is a distinct samey-ness to a lot of the episodes in tone. I thought Ultraman had more variety and experimentation from episode to episode.

I think a lot of the Ultraseven mystique comes from the actors. I didn't like 'em as much as the Science Patrol at first, but the more subdued performances won me over in the end.

You've got to stick with it for a while. Trust me, I went through the same thing. Then finally, it just clicked and now I love Ultraseven

Also, what you're experiencing now is normal of most old school tokusatsu shows. Even the best ones, you kind of have to grind through certain portions once they become formulaic and stale, but there's almost always a reason to stick it out.

Just try and make watching the show a part of your routine. Right now, I'm going through my second complete run through of Kamen Rider V3. I watch it every morning with my cup of joe. Heck, even though I like the show, once it gets into the 20s it's kind of the same thing over and over again until Riderman shows up in the 40s, but once he does, it's the stuff of legends.

You just can't wait until you FEEL like watching the show though otherwise you'll never finish it. Sometimes, you just have to power through.

Odd, how watching something you love can also seem like so much work lol.
