Got the Premium Edition DVD today. The Ultra Eye replica is really cool, but, I'm not sure it really justifies the extra cost. The discs themselves are identical as far as I'm aware.

EDIT: The Ultra Eye...! I took a couple of pics of it this evening.

Just finished watching the show today. My final thoughts is that it's very good, but I do have some complaints.

There was not enough monster fighting, and every time there was one it was VERY short. Most of U7X was story build up, which is fine, but I was really wanting to see some more monster action.

The final episode is definately the best, and had a good amount of monster action... but other then Ultraseven, the other monsters were CGI.. and it really didn't look all that good.

So.. here's my ratings on this short series(1-10 scale..10 being the best):

Story: 10

Each episode had GREAT story build up! And that's all that really needs to be said.

Characters: 8

All the characters were developed well, besides S and Kei. More episodes would have benefited for them.

Monster Action: 4

The only downside to the series, for ME. I wasn't bothered by the story build up, in fact I really liked it... but just not enough battles.

Overall: 7 out of 10

Really well done story, where you have to pay attention to understand... but with not that many monster action, it kind of disappointed me on that aspect. Even without that, I think all Ultraman fans will enjoy this.

My favorite Ultraman show from this new era is still Nexus, but UX7 is still enjoyable.

Hey guys, while on the subject of Ultraseven X, I was wondering if there were any official names for the aliens in episode two Code Name R of the series; the unseen occupants of the 'Utopia' space ship, and the briefly seen alien attacker from the same episode's flashback?

Tsubaraya is incredibly good / anal at naming all their fantasy characters, even the obscure minor ones like these two, but I'd like an official word regardless.
