Mark Wahlberg looks like he could dish it out....hopefully it's the role that makes people forget he was in "The Happening". It actually looks good, although I don't remember when in the games he actually fought with dark angels...hmmmm.....

Silent HIll 2 is silently beginning to roll soon(I think November, for release next year) and is actually rumored to revolve around a father looking for his daughter in Silent Hill, after she writes him a letter....years after she disappeared. Creepy.

........and (as soon as I can find that link), RE4 looks to be a HIGH possibility now, esp. when SONY and CAPCOM are actually going to get in on the live action business...and good/bad news - it's a reboot, 'cause rumor has it this time around, it's based on Outbreak.

Another rumor suggests it's a movie about the mansion incident.....could this be the "big surprise" CAPCOM had in mind for the anniversary?

Let's hope Degeneration does something to shake SONY's wallet loose and allow this one to get made, hopefully with someone who's heart is into the franchise; a real fan.

Well this is already a movie, but a game is being made from it. I saw that they were making Heat based on the Pacino/DeNiro film from 13 years ago... bad-ass movie. I highly recommend it!

When did this come up? 1st I've heard of it......and yes, it was a kic-ass movie.

BTW, Lionsgate/Dreamworks acquired the rights to Clock Tower a while back and are now making it a movie. They've actually already cast the female lead.....will she be able to point n' click her way out of the evil scissorman's clutches? Only time will tell....

BTW, Pics are up for the Tekken movie on Youtube, and it certainly looks like they're legit. They already have the Tekken arena from T4, and the Mishima Zaibatsu building(now renamed to the Tekken building) sets built. They're definitely using the Dark Ressurection/ Tekken 3 storyline fusion, though.

Also, KoF: The King of Fighters is currently shooting in Vancouver....hopefully it draws from the main series and not all "Maximum Impact"......my main concern, thoguh, comes from the fact that it feels like it's a small scale production. They have Rugal(Ray Park!) which automatically tells me it's the main storyline. I hope this one's done by-the-book, considering SF is taking an internal storyline route.

Last but not least, what did you guys think of the "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li" trailer?

It's interesting how everyone's all "mafia" now, rather than militia, but I can see why....though it's still rather wierd to see Bison in a business suit. Hopefully, this one's set before the Alpha series, before Bison even becomes the ruthless dictator we all know and love...

Resident Evil is entertaining for a bit and I like looking at Mila Jovovich, but other than that they never really did anything for me.

I will say that DOOM pisses me off. The only thing I liked about it was the first person shooter sequence.

I guess I had a DOOM movie in my head that was totally awesome.

Starring Bruce Willis. Using more of the settings in the original games and covering the walls with the anti-holy/satanic imagery. Making the place very terrifying to be in. Emphasis on shooting up monsters and having them explode in gory detail. Oh and this exact track would be in the movie.

Oh well. When in doubt, just put a cwazy action sequences in a movie involving kung-fu and surround it was rock music and you have a video game movie.

I agree with you there....DOOM didn't feel a thing like the original...then again, it didn't feel like the game it was based on either, DOOM 3.

Either game would've made an awesome by-the-book adaptation, even though I understand the toning down of the anti-religious stuff....Hollywood execs go into a frenzy because of those things.

Now, keep Bruce Willis, add Samuel L. Jackson and John Malkovich(as the evil doctor) and make a fusion of the original DOOM and DOOM 3, and you have one heck of a joyride. Fill it with plenty of firefights, professional rock remixes of the level tracks, and close-to-original-designs of the monsters....

I'd leave it up to the designers to say how they want the "hell" reveal to go down....


Either way, it'd still be better than the DOOM we got.....Though I'll agree, it was a fun movie.

I wonder how a Quake movie and an Unreal movie would go?

They'd be similar(marines go to another dimension, populated by hostile medieval-looking aliens(Unreal) or medieval...err, umm....hostiles(Quake)) but end up totally different.

Unreal Tournament would have to do with the virtual "sport" of Cyber-fragging, and how it begins to go wrong when the similations turn out to be real and the otherworldly combatants begin to pick off the honest humanoid cybernauts.

That's the problem: people want substance nowadays. It can kill a movie, or make it(like The Dark Knight).

Back in the 80s and the early 90s, you could get away with the whole "We just got here and found it like this" formula. Now people and studios want origins, so unfortunately, adaptations get origin stories tacked on "just-because".

BTW, Variety recently published what I've been saying all along: SONY's developing a Shadow of the Colossus movie. Hopefully Studio Canal and WETA are still involved. Sure, they'd add a lot of stuff, and maybe a sidekick for Wander, but the battles would be EPIC.

Street Fighter movies aren't all that bad. The first animated one is pretty good.
