Is this the "audience behavior" thread now?
Once I saw GAMERA 2, LEGION and a guy laughed at every thing. For an hour and three quarters this guy laughed at people walking down a hallway or an actor putting on a hat.
Once I saw GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER and the entire audience did that. They started roaring with laughter at the smog-shrouded city scape in the opening scene and never stopped. (I think there were free hashish brownies in the lobby)
On the other hand, the audiences at the Egyptian for GvMegaguirus and GMK were fabulous; laughing at all the right parts, applauding at the climactic scenes and cheering Godzilla on.
I've seen GODZILLA '54 about a dozen times since 2000 and the range of variety in audience behavor is amazing. I notice recently that last few times the audience always roars after Ogata incurs Prof. Yamane's wrath instead of getting his permission to marry Emiko.
I could go on, but I won't
