Abandoned Godzilla X Megaguirus Plot?

Color me interested. I'd gotta know more about the plot with Godzilla's bones on the moon.

I think I read something about something dealing with Godzilla's bones in x Mechagodzilla being part of a discarded idea Tezuka had for x Megaguirus... I'd certainly be interested in finding out more.

I've seen that picture before but I thought it was a rejected concept from Godzilla x Mechagodzilla. I had no idea there was ever a plan to feature Godzilla's skeleton in Megaguirus.

When I saw that I assumed it had something to do with the Dimension Tide aftermath.

I think the "moon in the found bones of Godzilla" is referencing that the moon is peaking through the ribcage there. Like, it's describing the shot, the moon IN his bones (I'm thinking more "peering THROUGH his bones"), and implication that Godzilla's bones are on the moon may be due to an inaccurate translation.

Then why are the people in space suits?

Those really look like astronauts to me too

Yeah, not to mention the black sky and the fact that the shot composition is a not-so-subtle tribute to the famous "earth rise" photo from Apollo 8.

They look like they could just as easily be radiation suits to me

Those are definitely astronauts on the moon. Radiation suits don't have big Apollo spacesuit backpacks and the kanji for "moon's surface" (月面) are part of the image title. Also the one guy is clearly doing a moonwalk. In Earth gravity, he would be falling over posed like that.

It's possible that the bones came from a monster that might have died before the beginning of the movie.

I really like that the skeleton is so obviously the skeleton of the G2K design.

In Godzilla x Mechagodzilla we have a Millenium Godzilla design and a '54 skeleton, which was... cool, I guess? But it's interesting to see the bones evoking the design of that movie.
