I was looking forward to the Kyle Cooper credits and then when we finally saw it, all I could think is that he took the money and ran.
What an ugly mess. This, coming from the guy who made some fantastic credit sequences in some very creepy movies/shows, and continues to do so. I wish he would have applied some more intriguing images....collages of diagrams, closeups of skin/bone samples (not unlike the shots behind title cards from a lot of Showa scenes), newsreel footage, and what we got was an ugly colorization of cheezy lightning effects that moved to quickly, with nearly unreadable credits. I have no problem with scenes from past films, but the overall effect was just bland. Who knows, though, maybe Toho had a hand in what we ended up seeing....
