My biggest problem with the film is that Orga's design was so-so and its possibly the stupidist monster (intelligence-wise) Godzilla has ever fought.

Ya, I think Orga was so much better in the video game than in the movie. I mean, if you ever got good with Orga or fought him on HARD, he can be a MOTHER PUNCHER! I hated it, but he was awesome in the game.

I really love this movie. I mean there's a lot to complain about, but I enjoy a lot of it. I dig the monster suit for Godzilla, and the idea or Orga is pretty neat. The whole film felt like Showa meets Heisei. In that it had some semblance of Showa heart (which is entirely debatable, but I'm insane), and Heisei scifi convention. In the end I think I enjoy what we got much more than what followed. While not my favorite Millennium film I enjoy it more than any of the Heisei films minus Biollante.

I'd heard rumors before this movie came out that Toho was basically going to just continue the VS/heisei series and use this film to pick up where Godzilla vs. Destroyer left off. I was somewhat disappointed to find out that they were wiping the slate clean yet again.

This film is fairly uneven for me. I love the beginning, and the movie does have some of the most memorable and enjoyable characters out of the recent Godzilla films. I liked that they tried using an original monster, even if Orga was pretty forgetable.

The special effects vary from great to terrible, I found the action (after the beginning that is) to be pretty boring, the score sucks, and the Godzilla suit was a big disappointment after the excellent suit designs of the VS series.

Like others I felt like Toho just rushed this one, simply wanting to make a generic Godzilla movie and not really caring about quality, though they did randomly get a few things right.

It's hard to believe that the movie was released ten years ago. It holds up better (for me, anyway) than the Heisei series.

G2K is possibly the only instance where I DEFINITELY prefer the American version to the Japanese version.

IMHO, it's better in every aspect except for the dub itself...better pacing, better score, better flow...if I could get the American version with Japanese audio and subtitles, I'd have the definitive version of this film...
