I believe so.[/quote]

I was sorta going for a rhetorical kind of thing,
but given the way I type it probably got lost
in the ramblings that are my posts. I'm also
surprised that Megaguirus got worst. I love that
design. I thought it was a pretty cool kaiju.

Man, F Megaguirus. Why couldn't he at least resembled a dang Dragonfly? He's grinning like Jack Nicholson for crap sakes!!

The KGs BOTH pull a close sceond.

If I was to chose a worst Millennium character, I would say Kiryu. Its not because of his apperence that I hate him but I don't like the idea of Mechagodzilla becoming a good guy and I don't like the fact that the inventor bonds with the robot. :P

I till think Baragon from GMK is the worst kaiju because he is by far the weakest listed on the poll.

Aww, poor Baragon... he couldn't help it if that evil Godzilla was three times heavier than he was! :P

I don't really think weak= bad kaiju design...

I for one appreciate the weaker kaiju because it brings balance to the Toho universe when every kaiju isn't a potential planet destroyer...plus it seems more like an ecosystem...one of my favorite additions of the "island" showa films...

^Exactly.

Varan, Baragon, Manda, Gorosaurus, Kamakiras, Kumonga and Ebirah (among others) aren't going to win any awards in the strength department. But they all bring something different to the table, add variety to Toho's monster roster and they all have their loyal fans.

If all Toho movies were full of the likes of Ghidora, Hedora, Mechagodzilla, Space Godzilla and Destroyah things would get very boring, very quickly.

Apparently I've already voted in this three-year-old poll, but I sure as hell don't remember who I voted for.

For me it's a toss-up between Megaguirus and GMK Ghidorah. Megaguirus is a cool concept (the queen of the monster bugs from Rodan? Awesome!) with a great design, but the execution was just downright poor. If we're harkening back to Rodan in the year 2000, don't make the flying kaiju prop not even a fraction as mobile or lifelike as those done by Tsuburaya in 1956. Meg's wings barely flapped at any given moment, and the whole "supersonic" speeding-up effect was a joke. Even when she turns her body around in midair, it's like watching a giant turntable rotating slowly. A potentially great monster with an awesome design that's ruined by poor execution.

But ultimately, I'd have to say Ghidorah in GMK was the worst representation of any kaiju in the Millennium series. It's bad enough that Toho forced him to be saddled with the role of a guardian, which doesn't fit him at all even if it does make him a foil to Godzilla in the film. But that honestly wouldn't have bothered me as much if the design and execution were up to snuff. Alas, they were not. Hard plastic heads, wings as rigid and immobile as the 1993 Rodan, and the overall appearance and posture of a chicken make this Ghidorah a failure on all levels. He was done much better in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, though neither of them hold a candle to how he was brought to life in the '60s.

He may not be a popular monster, but I like Orga a lot. Having a race of kaiju-sized aliens send a lone sentry to Earth in a form-fitting ship, scanning the local life forms and trying to assimilate itself with the most powerful among them, in this case Godzilla, is a very imaginative concept, and it works really well with the idea of Godzilla's cellular regenerative abilities presented in the film. I also dig Orga's design. It's something halfway between Godzilla and the Millennian alien that exits the UFO, and I don't think its more than passing resemblance to GINO is a coincidence, considering that Orga is a character attempting to take the place of Godzilla in a movie made a year after the 1998 feature. The suit may not be as mobile as it could have been, specifically the arms, but it was still pulled off rather effectively. Unlike the clunky Spacegodzilla or Destroyer suits that could barely move and merely bumped into Godzilla and produced a bunch of sparks, Orga gets into some really involved physical fighting. He and Godzilla bite, punch and tear into each other with a real sense of animosity, and showing how Orga is utilizing Godzilla's regeneration on-screen was a nice touch. Count me as an Orga fan.

It was really disappointing given some of the cool cinematography of the rest of the film -- the riding on Godzilla scene especially.

Megagiras didn't have a horrible design, and could definitely have been a cool character. However, the special effects used to bring her to life were so pathetic for a film made in 2000. It just ruined any chance for Megagiras to register as an interesting monster for me and it brings down the movie as a whole.

I voted Orga, because not only does its design make no sense considering its origin, but also because its easily the dumbest kaiju Godzilla has ever faced.

easily GMK ghidorah....i wont attack the execution or his inclusion in the film since we all know Toho and their scheduling and views of post production time...

Gmk Ghidorah fails because he has no personality in the film, he doesnt display fighting spirit...he just does, baragon and mothra are both overwhelmed by the power of godzilla but their personality shows through the battle..ghidorah despite the wonderful effects feels more lifeless and puppetlike than any other millenium kaiju.

I voted in this poll too, but can't remember who I voted for either!

If it was a while ago, I probably picked Megaguirus, and that was probably because of how dissappointed I was with the execution of the kaiju. Like someone above said, the rest of the film has some great effects and scenes. The problem is, once Megaguirus "flies" into the picture, all suspension of disbelief falls apart rapidly. It's not the design, it's the execution. Factoring in the U.S. dvd I watched where all the wires were clearly visible didn't help matters much either. It wasn't until the videogame Godzilla:Save the Earth, that I came to appreciate the design and how it *should* have looked in motion.

Now, I'd change it to Monster X. Way too human in proportion. Although most of the kaiju in Finals War were.
