Those are indeed awesome sidearms they have. Love that shot where they toss them up into the air and they come crashing down to the asphalt. That whole scene oozed style, I thought. One of my favorite aspects of GFW is that the cinematography is really appealing, unlike the straightforward approch of, say, the Heisei movies. The intense color-tinting/bleaching throughout the movie gives each location its own vibe - and the cold, washed-out look of the deserted highway in the motorcycle fight kind of says that the world's come crashing down in a cost-effective way, considering they didn't really have the budget to show more than a short montage of the invasion's toll.
