It is that time of year again (and this one is being dedicated to Haruo Nakajima, George Romero & Basil Gogos). Of interest to this fandom are:

This very site, Scifi Japan, is up for Best Website or Blog of 2017. G-Fan is up for Best Magazine of 2017. G-Fest is up for Best Con. And Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewski’s Ishiro Honda publication is up for Book of the Year.

The Best Short Film that I hope many of you will be voting on is Kong: Steel in Love. I found it to be quite a touching piece with the original 1933 Kong armature being brought back to life (via stop-motion) and looking at old photos, still very much in love with Fay Wray!

Well, the winners were announced this week, and like the Oscars, "Shape of Water" takes favorite movie. And "Kong: Steel in Love" won best short!!! Yay!!
