Add Monster Squad and In the Mouth of Madness to my list.

Both movies I adore. I'll probably stick with stuff I actually like or think has the potential to be good the rest of the way. I can't suffer through any more bad Tomie or Children of the Corn films. I'll save the rest of Tomie, Children of the Corn, and Phantasm for another time...

I still can throw down The Thing, Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Ghostbusters, The Great Pumpkin, Cabin in the Woods, Dawn of the Dead, Halloween III (gotta check out the new blu), Hellraiser, Trick 'r Treat, American Werewolf in London...and of course Halloween, so I've got more than enough GOOD stuff to keep me occupied.

Watched the Human Centipede.

And passed on the Universal Monsters set. I'm not as huge on Bride of Frankenstein as most people, Dracula to me is just okay, and I so loathe the 1943 version of the Phantom...I think i'd rather piecemeal something together, honestly...the Frankenstein and Son of Frankenstein, Wolfman and Creature from the Black Lagoon are the only ones I REALLY care about.


Human Centipede, for all its detractors who say it's just "sick" is actually a tight, subdued, scary film.

I love The Last Man on Earth. Easily my favorite of the I am Legend adaptations, with Omega Man 2nd, and the Will Smith version third.
I watched Jeepers Creepers for the first time. I watched the 2nd one years ago and thought it was bizarre and wonderful. I like this okay, but I prefer the over the top weirdness of JC 2. Frankenstein: The True Story was something I read about in the Ian Thorne Frankenstein book, but I had forgotten the title. I did some searching and found out what it was and downloaded it. It's alright. It's weird that Universal make a Pretorius character here but doesn't call it Pretorius. Whatevs. It's still kind of okay although I imagined it as being much more epic as a kid. Although I was going off of a paragraph and a single photo. XD. I've hit my 31 film minimum, but I'm watching the Hammer Mummy, THE SUPERIOR MUMMY, and about to watch Bride of Frankenstein on TCM. So I guess I'll still watch a few more.

Hellraiser is awesome, Ghostbusters is great. Trick 'r Treat is definitely a Halloween MUST, and Hellraiser II is just bizarre.

Treehouse of Horror 23:
The Greatest Story Ever Holed - I like it. It's got a charisma and a certain old-schoolness to it.
Un-Normal Activity - Hey. It's ok. Shaping up to be a decent episode.
Bart and Homer's Excellent Adventure - Ehhh...It's just ok. It misses the mark by overstepping the limitations of its running time
^Overall, it's just alright, but for a later-era Halloween special, it's solid and possibly among the best

Treehouse of Horror 24:
Oh the Places You'll D'oh - Good stuff. For the most part.
Dead and Shoulders - bleh. The only joke is the premise, which was a joke already, so you need more than JUST the premise. Which this doesn't have.
Freaks, No Geeks - Eh...meh. Geh. I dunno. It's just kinda there.
^Pretty bad overall. Nothing super fun or memorable

I think THoH 24 is vastly superior to 23 as 23 was not even remotely funny.

Anyway, I don't remember if I mentioned them, but I watched The Invisible Man's Revenge, The Mummy's Curse, The Mummy's Ghost, Riff Trax Night of the Living Dead, The Invisible Man Returns, and the first episode to that new American Horror Story season.

Hammer Mummy, which is SUPERIOR TO ALL OTHER MUMMIES.
Though I did watch the Universal version.
Now I'm watching War of the Gargantuas. I mean...that's kind of Horror-ish right? >_>

Watched They Live last night.

I wanted to watch The Thing, or Cabin in the Woods, but I wanna watch those in my theater, and I couldn't last night as I was dog sitting and don't trust the dog we were babysitting to behave unless I'm on the couch in the living room.

Nevertheless, I LOVE They Live. Such a great movie. Classic Carpenter.

I like Devil's Rejects a lot. If only Zombie had been able to recapture the solid mixture of horror, acting, black humor, and unapologetic violence that this film features in any of his subsequent films.

Demon Knight is really fun.

Coraline was on TV last night, so I caught like 90% of it. It's cute.

And thus the final day of Oct ended with The Werewolf of London, the remainder of Tales from the Crypt S6, and a viewing at the Alamo Drafthouse of the original three Halloween movies. My god it was such as an awesome way to go out.

Now November is my "Watch everything we bought in Sept and Oct" month such as Panty & Stocking, the Vincent Price Collection, along with watching Arrow and Agents of SHIELD. Oh, and I guess giving that Dracula show a chance that premiered the other night.

I like the remake of Maniac better than the original, I think.

and Frailty is alright. i'm not sure how i feel about the ending, but then i kind of think that's its strongest suit, making you question everything you were just watching.
