Time to resurrect this thread.

About a year ago I weighed 180. I was at 198 recently.

This week, I've decided to start working out again and get back on the horse.

I started the 17 Day diet. It's pretty straight forward, easy to follow, and structured enough to work for me.

I also started P90X.

I am down to 192 as of this morning a few days in.

My goal is to be around 160 or 170 depending on how my body responds.

Was down to 188 this morning (which is 10 lbs from where I started).

I did eat my body weight in chinese and pizza earlier (lunch and dinner - ugh)...so that probably didn't help..but at least I'm making progress.

I've been stuck at the 45 pounds lost mark for about a month and half and haven't budged from that spot. My weight will flux a few pounds here and there. Kind of annoying. I haven't eatten the healtiest the past few weeks which I assume is due to the weather getting colder so instinct is telling me to pack weight on for the winter.

I've decided to rejoin the gym come January.

I thought I would have gained a bunch of wait over the holidays but I actually lost two pounds. I'll probably drop a lot more weight since I'm moving out tomorrow and won't be able to snack like I can here.

So...

The past few months I've been sick with Mono and recently a sinus infection. Unfortunately so has my wife...it's been a struggle to do much besides work and getting ready for our baby (which arrives in a month!).

Tomorrow I start this shabang again. We'll see how it goes.

Ever since moving out I've felt like I've GAINED weight. I don't have a scale here so I can't confirm that.

When I went to the doctors a few weeks ago I got weighed it showed a slight weight gain but I also had cloths on too. I need to lose about 25 lbs according to the doctor but like Hybrid Gojira I've been sick so I haven't really felt like working out or any excercise.

Small update - 3 days in to P90x3. It's a tough workout in minimal time (30ish mins). I'm always sore after. I also managed to play some basketball last night.

The weather finally got warm in Michigan so last night I went for a nice two and half mile walk with my cousin and today I took two walks one in the afternoon while it was still sunny outside and and I just got back from one. It felt great to get out and get some physical activity something I haven't really done in awhile. My work is pretty physical but still that just adds to my stress (being at work) whereas this was relaxing.

I fell WAY WAY off, unfortunately. Last September/October, I had lost 30 pounds and was hovering around 175. Pretty sure I'm back up over my original weight.

Just worked out today for the first time in MONTHS...almost vomited, can barely move...yeah, I was way outta shape.

You can count me in as one who fell off the wagon, ever since moving out I've been eating cheap junk food and doing very little excercise and because of that I've put on about 10 lbs give or take. So now I need to loose about 30lbs to be where the doctor wants me to be at.

Now that it's getting warmer I plan on going for walks daily and going to try and eat healthier both my cousin and I are getting sick of junk food so he and I are in aggreance that we need to start buying more fruits.

So I initially weighed 295 lbs in February and managed to slice that to 275 lbs by April. Now I'm down to 269 lbs and I am in the size 38-40 for my waist, which feels nice. I was wearing sizes 42 and 44 jeans before, but I just donated those and have been working those size 38 jeans (my shorts are the ones that are primarily size 40).

I've been a little slacking when it comes to my diet and excericse, but I've learned to watch my calorie intake and found that power walking is the best exercise to loose fat. My physician said it's the best way because it doesn't drain you quickly and doing at least 30 min. - 1 hour a day can help. So as of yesterday I have started doing power walks across the local park and today I am heading to the gym for even more exercise. I'm hoping to get to 240 lbs by July, if not more.

So...

Last year Jelly and I did a "Weight loss challenge" - which he destroyed me at - but unfortunately I put all my weight back on and then some. On top of that, I actually have legit health reasons to make some very serious changes to my eating/workout habits - high cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.

So...does anyone want to join in this thread, post updates, and just check in to see how we are doing?

The other month I had to see my cardiologist, nothing to worry about just my yearly check up. And he told me I need to start actively dieting and working out more.


As for dieting I signed up to myfitnesspal.com and have been tracking my calorie intake. I've been doing pretty well with that, not going over my calories too often (although I've tipped passed my sodium intake more than I'd like). I've noticed that meals that I would consider too small or not enough are actually fine, but it's just that I usually eat too fast for my body and mind to really register that I'm actually full (not stuffed but you know).

As for exercising, my doc told me about what he does which is the Royal Canadian Airforce workout, also known as 5BX.

It takes 11 minutes to do and all you really need (if anything) is a yoga mat. You start out at the lowest level and work your way to the level for your age. You do 2 minutes of stretching, and then three other exercises for one minute each. And end with either 6 minutes of walking in place or walk/run X.X mile(s) in XX minutes.

I weighed 213 when I saw my cardiologist awhile back but he scheduled a stress test for me today and I weighed 207. Just 37 more pounds to go!

Just weighed myself on the scale I bought and I was 211, 209 without pants. This morning with the 207 weigh in was with pants but not having eaten anything since 4am. So it more like 40-ish more pounds to go.

So last year I lost 37lbs and was doing a good job keeping it off. Then I moved back in with my parents and my diet/exercise program really ran off the rails. Thankfully I'm still at less than my original wait of 215 lbs. But I'm still disappointed at being 191lbs now up from a low of 178lbs. Just went for a run in 80*F heat and almost died. I used to be able to run 4+ miles easy. Today I had to tap out at 2.5 miles. My response to that is


Anyway I am going to get back on my keto diet, start running again, and when I am able to set my squat rack back up in my new house, I'd like to start lifting again.
