All legitimate criticisms that I more or less agree with entirely. I appreciate the feedback! And, yeah, if I could do it over again it would be a markedly different film but alas. The script was written in 2009, before we started to put all our screenplays through super-rigorous rewrites and when it was selected to be produced, we didn't really give it as hard a look as we really should have because it was just this script that had been sitting around forever and we liked it and wanted to make it so why bother, right? And then, two-plus years later, I really wish I had bothered. UGH.
Again, thanks for taking the time to watch and criticize it so honestly. I really do appreciate it.
I'm really happy with our new script though. REALLY happy. It's not the aforementioned Gamera tribute – though that still exists, it just became a little more ambitious than we expected – but it's really, really cool. It's a giant monster film whose main concept is based around the fact that Georgia has no natural lakes, only man-made reservoirs. And also it's kind of a backdoor pilot for a longer series, which has been absorbing tons of story ideas from several of our older scripts and, uh, may have absorbed Not-Gamera too. We shall see. D:
