So I watched the movie The People vs George Lucas

I saw The People vs George Lucas was up on Netflix for streaming the other night, so I watched it. On one hand, it was very interesting. It gave some great information to Lucas' background and talked about a variety of concepts of Star Wars. I still do not hate the special editions, but I have to say that Lucas fighting Turner from colorizing B&W movies to preserve their historic nature is hypocritical given what he has done with Star Wars. That is a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" move and changed my perspective of the man a bit. On the other hand though, the movie was nothing more than a glorified "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" fest. I get enough of that through the world of text online. All it had was people whining about unfair it was for him to do what he did and that was the worst part of the movie.

OVerall though, I am glad I watched it and definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. It does make some good points when it is not people becoming overly dramatic over a movie.

Pretty much the exact same thoughts I had on the film. But they DO have the bits where they did have interviewees acknowledge how lame and dumb and immature the "he raped my childhood" thing was... I mean, yeah the prequels suck and the theatricals should get proper treatment, but fanboys really do let their emotions get the best of them and spout off a lot of hyperbole and can never seem to stop whining (Just look at the hoopla surrounding Prometheus... nerddom is getting almost as split down the middle as politics).

It's a good watch for sure. Lucas is a character, that's for sure.

I watched it back on May 4th and pretty much agree with all of it. I can admit that saying he "raped my childhood" is hyperbole, but at times I really do feel that way. I was still 15 when The Phantom Menace came out and I consider that midnight screening one of the saddest moments of my childhood.

I was only like 10, and honestly I didn't have much problem with Phantom Menace. It does seem I reacted to Attack of the Clones the way everyone else reacted to Phantom Menace. Hayden Christensen is worse than Jar Jar as far as I'm concerned.

I think the "nerds have become bullies" thing really is only in/on the world of the internet. Cyber-bullying is so easy because you don't have to back it up.

If one of these tools met someone like Damon Lindelof in person, they'd probably wet themselves with excitement.

I'll admit, it happens with me in the world of sports, "Tom Brady is a douche and I hope he gets run over by a bus" but if I ever met Tom Brady in person you can bet I'd be asking for an autograph.
