Brightburn - My expectations for this movie must have been way too high because it was not even close to being as good as I was expecting. It wasn't bad, yet, it wasted so much of the potential it advertised. What I expected was an evil Superboy going all out on the darkside. What I got was a kid who had loving parents and a happy childhood just randomly decide, "I have super powers, so I'm going to slaughter everyone that loves me with them." It made him an utterly unlikable and uninteresting little entitled emo brat. The biggest issue was the pacing though. Some times it sped through events way too quickly while at other times it dragged on. I feel like there was at least a half hour missing. Overall, I'm giving it a generous 7/10.

Finally gave my Blu-ray of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) a spin. My opinion of it hasn't really changed; a chaotic and overstuffed movie that, in the end, isn't very interesting beyond a few cool monster things, and even the monster stuff isn't as cool as it should be because of the chaotic editing, lack of graspable choreography, and swampy environments constantly making everything more obscured and hard to follow than it needs to be. And why all the pointless handheld camerawork? In the end, I think with writer/director Dougherty the scale of the film and his boundless enthusiasm for the subject matter madethe entire thing get away from him and what ended up being needed was more discipline.

Reigo- I thought it was an okay monster movie. I liked the fact that it took place during WW2 before the knowledge of nukes. The creature design for Reigo is very unique. It's basically if Godzilla had a fish body. Overall I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Raiga- I had high hopes for this one because I've always thought the Raiga design was interesting. It looks like an evolved form of Reigo. The movie is a loose sequel to Reigo and doesn't take itself serious at all its more of a kaiju parody movie. In fact there's one part where Raiga is rampaging through a city and some bystanders start calling him Godzilla and then others quickly correct them by saying "No, No, No". There's some weird subplot of a widowed father raising his three daughters ranging in age from adult to teen and he can't get a girlfriend or else his daughters get upset. Overall I thought the movie wasn't that great but slightly below average. So I'd give it a 4.5 or 5 out of 10.

Jungle Emperor Leo(1997) Instead of giving my money to Disney for their photorealistic animated rehash, I decided to Watch something inspired by Tezukas original. It definitely had some silly moments, but definitely some dark storytelling as well, but the animation is beautiful. The English dub leaves a lot to be desired, but I was surprised how many hidden references there were to his other works such as Astroboy. Definitely worth a watch. Currently free streaming on Vudu.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Dumbo - Well, at least the movie lived up to its name in being dumb. It was also quite dreary. It easily could have been about 20 minutes shorter than it was. Now I have no memory of the original film as I watched it back in 1988 once and never again as I didn't think it was all that great even as a kid. I had hoped this one would have actually made the concept entertaining to see, instead, it remains as insipid as ever. Still, it was at least better than The Lion King, so that's something, right? I'll give this thing a 5/10 and it will most likely make my top worst movies of 2019 list.

Missing Link - It was good. Not Laika's best, especially when compared to Kubo, but still a good entertaining movie nonetheless. 8/10.

The Omen 1976 - I saw the remake many years ago and thought it was long and utterly boring. This version was long and only slightly boring. There are some interesting ideas going on in this film but the thing comes to a screeching halt for a good 20 or so minutes before it picks up again around the time the main dude and David Warner head to Rome. There are some elements I did enjoy, however, overall, it was pretty meh. The soundtrack was great though. 7/10

Got and watched the Arrow Video editions of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II. Enjoy both, but man; the first one is just a perfect little movie. Julia and Uncle Frank are compelling villains entirely capable of supporting a film, but then Pinhead and his crew are seeping in at the edges to push it over the top. I'm not entirely happy with how the mythology was expanded in the second one; making them from a more traditional hell. The explanation in the first that they are "explorers in the further reaches of experience" is much meatier.

Viy (1967)

While on vacation, an uncouth, somewhat delinquent seminary student runs into a witch deep in the country and, when she attacks him, he beats her near to death. He stays long enough to see her transform from an old crone into a beautiful young woman. A few days later back at the seminary he receives a summons to perform last rites on a wealthy landowner's daughter. Naturally, when he gets there he realizes the dead daughter is the witch and he must spend three nights with the corpse standing vigil and reading scripture.

Naturally, he must endure three nights of supernatural manifestations, culminating in an incredible sequence during the last night where the witch summons all sorts of monsters, including the Viy.

This is credited as being the first Soviet horror film and it is terrific. More of a dark fairytale in the vein of Kwaidan then a traditional horror film, it has a pleasingly eccentric vibe and some incredible imagery.

MIB International - I saw the original back when it first came out in theaters and found it to be an absolute borefest. As such, I skipped out on the first two sequels. For some reason I thought maybe this would be an improvement since everyone kept saying it was the best of the sequels. If this is the best of the sequels, then holy christ the previous two entries must be worse than dogshit because this movie was complete crap. Not only did it continue the trend of being boring as hell, with a predictably cliche plot, but they really overstayed their welcome of showing off how "attractive" Chris Hemsworth is. What a load of croc this garbage was. I want my 2 hours back. It may not be the worst movie of the year, but it is definitely going to be in the top 5 with Hellboy and The Lion King. Good god. I give this stankfest a 3/10.

^ I'm with OSupreme, International is widely regarded as the worst of the lot, even the inflated IMDB scores have it in the dreadful 5 range well below the other 3 films (also with 3 beating out 2).

I recently rewatched Zebraman and Zebraman 2 -- it's interesting how different the two films are, and it kind of feels like the second movie is a rejection of the first film. Overall i like the first film aside from some of Miike's "shock" elements, i might like the second more if it had ended differently. The music video sequences and some of the action sequences have a fantastic visual feeling to them, but it seems they were directed by someone other than Miike.

Scream 2

The opening and finale of this film actually tackles some interesting thematic stuff and comments on the first film in a fun, meta way. That's pretty neat. Unfortunately, the 80% of the movie in between those two things is a lower quality retread of the first movie, without the cohesion and precision that made that original film a knockout.

The Howling- Still one of the best werewolf movies ever made. Despite Baker leaving to work on AAWiL this still has amazing special effects. Easily one of my top 10 werewolf movies. 9.5 out of 10

The Howling 2: Your Sister is a Werewolf- Eh despite being a terrible movie overall I find this to fall under the camp its so bad its good. This movie really sets the tone of future Howling sequels where they get progressively worse. 6.5 out of 10

The Howling 3: The Marsupials- Like the sequel before it its a movie that is so bad its good. Its actually my favorite of the sequels just because of how ridiculous the plot is. 7 out of 10

Full Moon High- A teen werewolf comedy that predates Teen Wolf by four years. I've always enjoyed this movie ever since seeing it a few years back on Epix I think. 8 out of 10

Werewolf Shadow aka Werewolf vs the Vampire Women- The only Paul Naschy film I own in his Waldemer line of films. Its okay nothing special. 6 out of 10

The Werewolf- I like this movie because its not your typical werewolf movie in the sense that the werewolf was an experiment gone wrong because of a paranoid scientist plus the werewolf design is great. 7.5 out of 10

The Curse of the Werewolf- My favorite Hammer horror movie and one of my all time favorite werewolf movies. 9 out of 10

Cursed (2005)- I hadn't seen this movie since it came out and was browsing Hulu and they had it on so I watched it. Its got some decent special effects, the werewolf design is ok. 7 out of 10

Grandma Werewolf- What a terrible low budget movie, with terrible actors and lame special effects. Seriously eff this movie. 3 out of 10

The Wolf-Man (2010)- Watched the extended cut tonight and its better than the theatrical cut but its still a terrible remake of an awesome werewolf movie. 6 out of 10

So if you haven't been able to tell I have a theme for my Halloween movie marathon this year. Not sure what I'll watch for the rest of the month. I do know on the 30th I'm watching AAWiL when I get the Arrow release in and on the 31st I'm ending the month with The Wolf-man (41).

Child's Play 2019 - Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the remake to Nightmare on Elm Street, that's something, right? Seriously though, this was complete and utter "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!". It was cliche, it didn't feature a single likable character, there was not a single sense of pacing, but most of all, it was utterly boring. The movie didn't even try to do anything original at all. Not to mention it totally wasted Mark Hamill, but I bet he loved the paycheck they gave him for this "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!". Also, who the hell in the real world would also want to own a doll that looked like that? It looked like someone immortalized the face of a pedophile in doll form. Like seriously, that "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" looked creepy. No kid would want anything to do with that. Jesus "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" christ this sucked and I'm not even that big of a fan of the original. I'm giving this "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" fest a 2/10 because there were two funny moments in the movie.

Not to get too OT, but I felt the same disdain for the original "My Buddy" doll in which Child's Play was originally making fun of. But evidently they were quite popular. I mean I've never been a fan of dolls in general, but evil possessed toy/doll horror seems to be a trend at the moment.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Zombieland - 8/10

Addams Family - Felt like an episode of the 60s show in theaters. Very fun. 8/10
