Finally I have gotten my hands on the Raw 15th Anniversary DVD set and I have to say that I never realized how different the matches are now then they were today. Current WWE matches can be so slow, but 15 years ago they were quicker and more coherent. I realize today there are a lot of "power" wrestlers in the company, but it's just a shame really. For instance they have HBK vs Marty Janetty in what was a great match that has much more action in it than most matches you can see on the WWE today. I suppose if you wanted to compare the old WWF to something now, it would definitely be TNA. When a TNA match is given the time, it definitely resembles what the WWF use to be.
Anyway, I didn't start watching Raw for a few years after it first started and was surprised to see that for months they broadcasted the show from... the Hammerstein Ballroom. Makes me think back to maybe 2 years ago when Vince was reluctant to return there more than once when he brought ECW back. It's also a shame. It's a really awesome venue to have wrestling in.
I do recommend you guys check this out. It's got a lot of great matches on it so far like HBK/Janetty (Cookson, you'd love that one), and 123 Kid/Hart for example. Plus you get to hear the Macho Man's classic commentary
If any of you "need help" getting this, then let me know
