Well he is 37 years old now.
He's been wrestling for quite awhile now (over 10 years).

It just shows that WWE needs to seriously do some building of the younger guys.
Eventually Cena, Orton, and the other "Big" stars will have to retire.

It was an awesome main event. There are so many talking points to come from it, I hope Sting doesn't overshadow how AMAZING Dolph Ziggler was.

This time of year is generally the start of the best time of the year to be a wrestling fan as the buildup towards Wrestlemania begins. Anyone else excited?

I'm excited that Daniel Bryan is back in action because without him I kinda hate the WWE's faces:
-John Cena is beyond unlikable. He takes credit for Ziggler winning at Survivor Series, banishes the Authority forever, then brings them back because his long-time nemesis was being threatened and he has to go save the guy anyway, then says it's other people's fault and he'd do it again in a heartbeat, then gets three guys fired because he's a buttmunch, then the very next show doesn't talk about them for a second and just threatens Brock Lesnar. He also threatened to take his ball and go home, which flies right in the face of Mr "I'm here every night (except when I'm not because I've got better things to do like film a TV show or movie)". His character is the absolute WORST thing about wrestling.
-Roman Reigns is awful in his singles run. His promos are beyond miserable and his matches are workmanlike and bland, and they have the exact same high spots over and over. It's already become dull.
-Dean Ambrose is probably my second-favorite face, but I also hate how he's always threatening to literally kill people because this is the PG era and we know he won't even hit them in the head with a chair. It's a little too "90s extreme play to the 8-year-olds who think ULTRA VIOLENCE IS THE BESTEST!!!!"
-The Usos are basically as bad as Cena, as boring as Reigns, and as uncomfortably domestic disturbance-y as I EVER wanna see a wrestler get.
-Ryback. The guy came back from that injury and I was marginally excited to see something from him, but he's been misused and is basically just a half-step of importance above...
-Erick Rowan who wasn't much WITH the Wyatt Family and is NOTHING without them.

Oh and I lied when I said Ambrose is my second-favorite face behind Bryan. It's easily Dolph Ziggler, but I can't let myself get excited about him until WWE does something to allow me to think he'll be a main event player instead of just a guy they bring up for a cheap fan pop occasionally.


Ziggler COULD be this year's Bryan if they let him be, and I'd be good with that.
Bryan could also be this year's Bryan (yeah I know how that sounds)...basically I'd be good with a repeat of last year.
But I just feel like we're gonna amble and ramble predictably towards Roman Reigns winning the rumble and Lesnar dropping the belt at Wrestlemania to the guy who give promos like THESE:



That said, this IS the best time of year to be a wrestling fan and I am mildly excited since they usually deliver and eschew my expectations.

Personally, I think they should postpone the push of Roman Reigns. Flip the script, and have him become a mega heel along with Dean Ambrose in a new Shield stable. He's just not ready yet.

My Royal Rumble viewing experience:
-Hey, that Ascension vs. New Age Outlaws match wasn't TERRIBLE! It got the job done and hopefully now The Ascension can move on to fighting real tag teams instead of ghosts.
-As beyond bored as I am of Usos vs Miz/Mizdow, that was a SOLID, fun match. This is shaping up to be a decent night.
-Divas.
-HOLY BALLS! THIS TRIPLE THREAT! WOW! AMAZING! MATCH-OF-THE-YEAR CANDIDATE.
-...sh*t...Daniel Bryan is out.
-...well f*** me...Ziggler didn't even get to do anything.
-dammit, Reigns is winning this, isn't he?
-he is.
-crap.
-lulz, even The Rock can't save this.

Reigns was everybody's golden boy after the Rumble last year, where did he go wrong?

And Arnold Schwarzenegger is going into the "celebrity wing" of the WWE HOF for... punching Triple-H on "Smackdown" 15 years ago. Can we get some justice for Regis Philbin and Cyndi Lauper?

WWE would probably have been better off if they saved Reigns for the Royal Rumble instead of having him come back last month. His win would have probably gone over a lot better.

Have him turn into the next monster mega heel at WM 31. Wrestling fans can be very fickle and such. And they may now really start turning on him since he's been "hand picked" as the next big star to carry the WWE title, and not Daniel Bryan. Along with the fact that many just know and feel he is just not ready. Have him do a complete swerve at WM or the night after on RAW, and join the Authority. (a Rock joining The Corporation Redux from Survivor Series 1998) I think it will be very beneficial for him long term. On a side note, I love when RAW is aired from real wrestling hotspot cities like Philly, New York, Boston, Chicago, etc. I've always felt like these areas carry the most knowledgeable and hardcore wrestling fans around. Know what I'm saying?

I'd love to see Reigns-Lesnar do a double turn in the coming weeks as I basically cheer Lesnar like a faxe already anyway but it won't happen. We're more likely to have Fast Lane feature some kind of "#1Contender" match if Vince finally realizes Bryan is the crowd pleaser.

My perfect scenario would be this:
Bryan starts doing a promo about how he just beat Kane, in fact, last year, he got one over on The Authority big time and on top of that, he never even really lost his title in a match.
Then HHH comes out and he's all B-plus this and Royal Rumble that
Then Heyman and Lesnar come out. Lesnar would rather face Bryan. Heyman says it's because Bryan should be the #1 contender since he was never pinned but they play it up like Lesnar thinks he can beat Bryan more easily than Reigns.
Reigns comes out and says that he's willing to provebhe alone is worthy of the shot at WM by giving Bryan a #1 contender match at Fast Lane.
Bryan wins via something fluky so they can play up the David vs Goliath aspect of Bryan Lesnar. At WM, Bryan with a Yes Lock for the win. YES! YES! YES! YES!

I just hope Reigns doesn't beat Bryan.

As of the recent rumors I heard, Bryan is still in line for a match with either Ziggler or Sheamus at WM.

IF Reigns beats Bryan, they'd HAVE to go all-in on a Reigns heel turn, and even then they'd wind up having huge problems at Mania. For starters, last time Lesnar faced off against a guy nobody liked it was vs Goldberg at WM20 and the crowd reaction was an embarrassment for the WWE (just look up a Youtube video and see how violent the crowd is towards BOTH guys). Also, we all know Lesnar won't be winning at Mania. You don't start this storyline he's had, beating Undertaker at Mania, DOMINATING Cena at Survivor Series, TEARING through two guys in a triple threat at the Rumble, and NOT end it at WM. So you'd be left with heel Roman Reigns winning at WrestleMania and watching the crow boo like crazy at your main event of your biggest show of the year. OR Seth Rollins cashes in and then you're basically popping him as a face, which I think he can be some day, but not yet. He's too good a heel at the moment and too closely intertwined with The Authority angle.

The only way to keep the main event at WrestleMania from being HATED by the crowd is to put Daniel Bryan in it. Crowd would love it win or lose, honestly.
