I like both the Heisei and Showa films, except for SpaceGodzilla and Mothra '92. Those two films are heaping piles of garbage, and I might just take Megalon or Revenge over them for being much more fun (stock footage or not). G85-GvsKG are all pretty solid movies, KG more so because I think Godzilla and KG are well done, but the writing is sloppy in KG. MGII is ok, but Rodan is a complete bastardization of his Showa counterpart. Destroyah is not a bad film, but it has some obvious flaws, especially the matte shots and Dessy props.
One thing I do find true is that the Showa series has, overall, much better characters...most of the Heisei characters seem pretty dry. The millennium films? Aside from SOS and GMK, the rest are not great. GXMG is alright. GXM sucks, as does G2K (Orga is lame as a Godzilla villain). GFW feels more like a matrix film than one about Godzilla.
I guess when you have just shy of 30 movies, you would probably expect somewhat of a mixed bag...I feel like all 3 series have good, bad, and even terrible films. For the most part, I enjoy them all.
