1) I don't recall which Godzilla board I got this off of, but months back someone said that the Mothra larvae in "Godzilla vs. Mothra" that was beaten with Godzilla's tail was the one that ended up dying. While this is a theory, I always thought it made sense. Being just babies, their bodies were very delicate and senstive. After being thrown around and beaten, that poor baby was probably bleeding internally.
2) Thanks up there for the translation to "Ghidrah: THM". I always thought in the dub they said "the other one," but it's "the older one." Either way I always knew they were talking about one of the babies.
3) Strange as the sex of the Mothra species may be due to Toho writing or dub writers, I always assumed that the larvae of "Ghidrah" and "D.A.M." was indeed male and the same one. I know the dub has mistakes, but calling the larvae a "he" made sense to me. I accepted the idea when I noticed the change of the eyes from blue to red. I thought Toho wanted to show some clue to determing the sex of Mothras. So with blue, you have a female, and with red eyes you have males. And because of that idea, I thought that males have a longer (or slower) lifespan. Which is why I always thought that the Mothra larva in D.A.M. didn't change to an adult yet (I'm speaking story-wise, not special effect wire issue with the adult form). If Minya can still be a kid after all those years, what can be strange about a baby Mothra not becoming an adult yet?
4) The only thing that may contrdict the above is the Mothra in "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster." That adult could be the larvae or the assumed dead larvae, but I always believed here that the Mothra in the movie was... the Mom from "Godzilla vs. Mothra." It was just in my mind that through strange powers of the people of Infant Island that they brought the body back and was trying to resurrect her. I got the idea after looking at Mothra as if she was dead up there and eyes seemed dark. Was she just sleeping all that time and ignoring her people who needed her? Anyway, something for you guys to ponder about. Considering that "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster" is in continuty with the series, I believe (don't ask me how, I have no clue) that when Godzilla confronted Mothra, he attacked for one reason... it was the same adult-form Mothra he fought and killed long ago (the Mom). After making peace with the last of the three members of the family (Godzilla killed the Mother Mothra, and possibly killed the larvae sibling), I don't think Godzilla would've used his ray at Mothra like that. He fought with the last of the Mothra kind and with Rodan against Ghidorah (Ghidrah in that movie) and was friends. Then in "Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster" after Godzilla defeats Ebirah and looks up... he looks like he sees a ghost. Assuming Godzilla has a great sense of smell, he would have known it or not if that Mothra in adult form ws the one he made friends with, but it didn't seem to be the case. While he did make peace with the larvae, he's never made peace with the Mom/ Adult. After she knocks him down so she can get to the nest of people to escape, he could have blasted her from behind but didn't. Perhaps he remebered how he made peace with the larvae and decided not to break that peace by killing the Mother twice. Hey, Godzilla can control his anger and show his friends loyalty. Well this is what comes to my wacky mind... spooky huh?
Godbless and be cool!
