Invasion of Astro Monster/Monster Zero for me.

I mean, it's the best movie up there for one, but also it's got the coolest alien invasion elements: coolest spaceships, coolest alien technology, coolest alien uniforms, coolest alien characters, most developed aliens in terms of plot detail.

The Killaks are kinda dull, but I really like the Nebula M Spacehunter and Black Hole aliens and all their low-rent '70s charms, too. I just dig the concept of aliens using monsters to conquer Earth, even if it is a totally unrealistic and reliant of cartoon logic. I was so happy when we found out that that was the ultimate pot of Pacific Rim (and hope those guys are developed further in the sequel).

Spacehunter Nebula-M! They destroyed their own planet, then infiltrated ours by disguising themselves as our dead, and developed a means to wipe out civilization while pretending to be friends to our children. Not only that, they developed a means to control the mighty Ghidorah and Gigan. And they would have gotten away with it too...

Black Hole aliens are second place for me because they turn into monkeys when you shoot them, and thats pretty cool.

This is a conundrum...To me the Kilaaks are the weakest of all the Alien species seen in the Toho films...however DAM is my favorite film despite the weakness of the Alien plot. oh and I guess this only includes Godzilla films? Otherwise we could have included The Mysterians, & Battle in Outer Space
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

LOVE "Monster Zero", but the Xians could have taken control of the three monsters without Earth's permission, not to mention that they blabbed too much on their doings, and thus the Space Authority was able to find and exploit a weakness. Still, all great fun. True, the Killaks were not as colorful as the Xians, but their plan was much more straightforward, so I have to give the edge to DAM.

Monster Zero. Gigan is a close second, due to its insanity, but it just doesn't measure up on a technical level.

Just a little side point...as a child I always thought the Black Hole alien leader in G vs MG was the same character as in TomG. I guess its not so bad since Goro Mutusmi played both parts, and either the actor who dubbed both parts was also the same, or sounded very similar.

That's not a bug, it's a feature: the Xians' defining trait is that they're smug, overconfident jerks.

I love the tendancy for aliens in the Godzilla movies to, once they operate on Earth, adopt the persona/style of gangsters. It makes no sense, yet at the same time makes perfect sense in fantasy movie dream logic.

I know this is because of the influence of popular Yakuza movies and they didn't see a tend they couldn't absorb.

This poll is broken. All the Gigan votes appear to be going to Astro-Monster
